I hope the big companies decide to get involved to help promote innovation within the industry, instead of dumping boatloads of CHF or Yen into developing their own & driving this into obsolescence. But I really don’t hold out much hope.

The tech is solid, it would be expensive to deploy in a different configuration. It is a truly useful solution, so with luck it will gain traction.
