Founded in the 1970s, Kramer Guitars set out with a mission - to challenge Gibson and Fender as a world-wide leader in electric guitar and bass manufacturing. To further set themselves apart from the competition, Kramer Guitars came equipped with certain high-end features as standard such as specially wound DiMarzio pickups and Schaller machine heads and bridges.
In the 1980s, Kramer began to produce guitars with wooden necks and their signature “beak” headstock and an early version of the Rockinger tremolo - this innovative design allowed players to perform extreme tremolo bends without going out of tune.
Next, Eddie Van Halen and Kramer Guitars entered an extremely fruitful relationship. With Eddie Van Halen customising his stage and studio guitars and endlessly searching for a guitar will stay in tune no matter how extreme his bends were, Kramer stepped in at an excellent time. Kramer Guitars became synonymous with Eddie Van Halen who was the most popular rock guitarist in the world.

I absolutely love Kramer guitars as a novice player I really appreciate the simplicity of the control setup, I really like the Beretta model with the push pull knob that allows you to coil split, you really get a full range of sounds. By far my favourite guitars all time, I only wish they came in a natural finish.

Kid in my brothers band had a 85 or 86 black barretta. man I loved that guitar and always wanted one. Missed out on the reissue about 15 years ago. I since got a special that I'm transforming into that guitar. While I was at it I picked up a red one and an 84. HAHAHA! I love them. I have a bunch of other type guitars but the Kramers just speak to me.

What have you done with your special? I swapped out the pickup for a Duncan JB, added a better taper pot and locking tuners. I got the pink and went all black with everything else.

I love to work on my guitars and modify them. Im VERY happy to say that the NEW Kramer models work very well for this. I found a "Kramer focus VT211s" in one of my local music shops. It's a new model and it's VERY cheap. 129.99$ gets you a MAHOGANY body and a maple neck and fretboard of surprisingly good quality. Kramer was very clever here IMO, the guitar itself is quite nice, but the hardware and electronics are low quality and cheap. This means it's absolutely perfect for modding. I put new speed volume pot, new locking machine head tuners, a Seymour Duncan JB Humbucker in the bridge and after I set it all up properly it's an amazing shredder that is on par with some of my other MUCH more expensive guitars. It ended up being around 240$ or so total. If youve always wanted a Kramer and have the skills and know-how to modify I STRONGLY recommend this new model

Awesome! I got one of the new red Striker guitars! It’s also got superb construction with room to grow. I’m planning on upgrading the Floyd Rose Special to a 1000 and adding a hotter DiMarzio to the middle position!

I like that Mark is an actual guitar guy not just a businessman. Evh was my reason to play guitar as well. My dad was watching a Van Halen video when I was like 4 and I asked for a guitar every birthday and Christmas. I always wanted a strat though not understanding about pickups and electronics the outline looked like a strat I thought that’s what it was. I just bought a Kramer pacer.

Marks the reason I won't buy a Gibson but I do have Epi's and Kramers, but Mark isn't the one that brought Kramer back nor does he really have a lot to do w/ the imported brands under Gibson. I'm just not authentic enough for Mark which is the way I like it. That guy always comes off as a douche but I'll keep playing the Epi's and Kramers.

I still have my original Kramer Nightswan (1989) Aztec paint job. Unfortunately sold my Kramer 300st and Focus 1000. However I did get my hands on a Kramer Dave Sabo guitar earlier this year and it's absolutely fantastic, can't say enough good things about it, but I did sell a limited edition edition Gibson Les Paul studio to get it, not much regret, I miss it, but the Dave Sabo model is amazing, just love it! I did add some FU-tone Titanium saddle screws and saddle blocks and the Brass big block on the Floyd Rose. Just need to get my hands on one of the new SM1's as well!

Imma say this for everyone who has original Kramers or who is an enthusiast of Kramers and other shredder guitars..... I'm still not feeling it quite yet to pull the plug on one. Gibson..... you have the potential to bring back a brand that could potentially compete with the likes of Jackson and Charvel, but you need to DO IT RIGHT!!!!!! Bring back the original designs from the 80s... spec for spec, dimensions, materials, etc... I understand certain wood species can't be obtained anymore, however, where's my Pacer Deluxes, Pacer Custom I & II's. The Nightswan should have an R1 nut, and a Full Shred in the bridge with the JB in the middle... Where's the US made lines for Pacers, Barettas, Stagemasters... How about the ProAxe's??? Gibson you need to bring back the actual designs that PEOPLE WANT, and do it good and do it right. Graphics, colors, hardware, finishes (thin poly rather than thick). You gotta do this right...

@@JohnnyGuitarRocks I think the Floyd’s are decked on some of them . The ones that come out of the factory with the D-Tuna I’m sure are.
