The audience sounds like it's on life support -- which is making Kate's job tougher, and perhaps making her (at least appear) a little nervous. But I give her an A+. Also, it is really great to see the Irish pushing back against centuries of Catholic dogma and repression.
@koalaman182 жыл бұрын
I suspect it was just the recording being too clean and/or the acoustics of the room: any noise from the audience is very muted. You can hear them laugh at times, especially when Kate talks about the questions asked by teenagers (around 6:30), so they are responding, you just really have to strain your ears to hear.

Such an incredibly important subject! Thank You for posting this. I had a terrible accident after spouse used withholding to express something and I got mutilated in the hospital for life. They ripped out the urethral catheter without first collapsing it. Did this church run hospital impose a punishment on me? It's a life sentence.

I thought babies were made in an "easy bake oven", that is what the nuns told us who taught at our school. I am not joking....the nuns told us their was a receipe for all races, just like an apple pie. I was 6, so we believed them. Often my friends and I would go over to each other's homes to see if any of the mothers we're making new babies in the kitchen. It was all in the ingredients. One time in school we asked a nun how a mother could produce a child looking from another culture....answer was simple...she used the wrong receipe

@@seancoleman5021 no, she was not brilliant. she was rather egotistical and although educated, she had enormous blind spots about her own tendencies. hence really not that wise. and still not a real person either. Eddie I'm curious why you think she's a narcissist. A narcissist is someone with an overly inflated sense of self importance, who lives in a fantasy world of their own grandeur, who has a huge sense of entitlement, and who exploits, belittles or intimidates others for their own means or to shamelessly promote themselves. Where exactly in this talk did you see any of those traits? Because what I saw was a very polished, calm professional delivering a well researched presentation explaining her findings. Did we watch the same Ted talk?
