The Donner Cut of *_Superman_* needs a 4K. I liked the Donner Cut of *_Superman 2,_* but the incompleteness makes it real hard to revisit it often. Whenever I rewatch the four Reeve *_Superman_* movies, I always just go for the theatrical cut of Part 2. *_Superman Returns_* should've been a ground up reboot from the start, none of the quasi-sequel crap. As least now, Routh's Superman has been redesignated to be his own Superman from the Multiverse, and not Reeve's iteration.

Truth and justice are certainly things to aspire to. The American way, especially lately, I wouldn't say so at all. Besides, tying him too much to any one country always seems far too small for Superman. As a loooonng time Superman comic fan, I like the big sci-fi hero aspects far more. The Donner cut of 2 is an interesting look at what could have been, but the incomplete scenes and, thusly, lower production values, plus the reused ending of 1, make it second to the extended cut of 2 for me, despite the Lester silliness. It has to be the extended cut though, with the arctic cops seen in the end. The story of Superboy being there when Lex lost his hair is from 1960. One of the separation points between golden age (Earth 2) and silver age (Earth 1) Lex Luthor. Jane Foster is famously a third female character who has lifted Thor's hammer.
