Talking thru changes - the edited version - Art Journey - Learning along the way.

For the artist and the collector, the making of art is such a mystery. We artists can create some absolutely stunning pieces and find ourselves wondering how we ever did it. While I can't take the complete mystery out of creating a piece of work, I can share a bit of my process in the moment. That's all I am privy to as well, believe it or not. Creating art is a space in time and we capture our thoughts and responses through paint and our actions. Enjoy this little snippet of my process yesterday. It's different every day.

Dear Pauline Thank you for sharing your process of how you inject more energy into your painting. Just the few minutes of watching you working on the painting has helped me realise I need to be a little looser in my work and not have it so tidy. I'll grab the sketchbook and have a play. I have watched the videos from Nicholas Wilton and have thoroughly enjoyed his wisdom and wealth of knowledge.

Hello Helen, Thank you for your lovely comment and compliment. I'm so glad you found the video helpful. Yes! do jump into your work and sketchbook with more energy and flare. Let rip! Life is too short to be neat and tidy and constrained. I read just recently the notion that "Your art,… is the only place in life where you have full reign, full control, of doing exactly what you want!" So what are you waiting for? Take yourself up on it! Now I know we artists struggle with this, but it's because we are getting caught up on things we think we should do, for the design, for our viewer or potential buyer, for for for, but the only guarantee we have is that we are the artist, and we are the ones creating the art. From us for us, first. I hope you have given it a go already and have enjoyed yourself. Glad too that you have gleaned so much from Nick's workshops. He was so generous this year! Stay well, stay creative & stay free!

Thank you Danielle. I have a plethora of mark making materials and I use them all in various circumstances. I believe I used acrylic markers here.
