This was utterly magnificent-probing and sensitive questions, sagacious and candid answers. Thank you, Mr. Lyons, and thank you, Professor Skinner!

Rich, candid, insightful and inspirational interview, recorded for us and those after us-posterity! An observation, Professor Skinner’s bookshelf is showing the effect of the weight of his Leviathan tomes!

I had first encounter of the Professor when he gave a lecture at the then building (called the new building , no-longer existent) opposite the Old Theatre building , in 2012(?) at the LSE, but with this interview I have learned a great deal more about the man, his history and his scholarship! Thank you!

Johnny, how in the name of John Pocock is his not dropped among so many others? Especially in your brief excursion around the Cambridge school as a strong contributor and influencer of scholars? for me, a glaring omission.

Amazing how someone so bright can be so ridden with guilt for being a man. Identity politics is really powerfull and scary if you stop and think that even Skinner is on his knees asking for forgiveness.

@@ricardocima That’s how you see this? Yeesh. He’s clearly empathising with others who didn’t have the same opportunities/privileges that he had. It’s awful you see this as pernicious identity politics
