I guess it was Thousands Sons ship going to Prospero during the day, Trazyn thoght "A big ship of only loyalist Thousand Sons would be a great addition" and swooshed giant Teseract Pokeball. At Solemnace while inspecting he saw that he could use them for more than mere nice thingy on shelf, so he started to use nano-scarabs to inflict them with lust for "collecting" like he has, because lust for knowledge already came from Magnus. But Trazyn didn't worked on SM before and they weren't mere humans as he thought mind-wise, they snapped before he could imprint the next thing, loyalty to him, they bashed in the ship from Solemnace taking some stuff along, but a long time has passed since they were captured, flew to some Imperium world, a lot of strange mess happened and boom fresh new Blood Ravens chapter which mysteriously doesn't know anything about from who they come and why that thing you have isn't in their hands

Horus Heresy Thousand Sons. One of Magnus' sons who had already lost faith in Magnus abandoned the legion at the razing of prospero. This one son who rejected his father was a member of the corvidae sect marked by a black raven with a single blood drop upon his pauldron.

40k Theroirs has done great videos on the potential Gene-seed of the Mentors, White Templars. Carcardons, Storm Giants, Blood Ravens, Minotaurs, & Black Dragons Chapters. The later was speculated to be Blood Angels successors.

Exorcists are hinted to be Grey Knights successors, which are the order militant of the Ordo Malleus, so it makes total sense that the Ordo Malleus would control them.
@theapostatejack86484 жыл бұрын
The Exorcists are basically mundane Daemon Hunters for the Ordo Malleus. Apparently the theory goes that being possessed once makes it harder to be possessed again. Possibly sharing the chimeric lineage of the Grey Knights. As for the aspersions cast on Ordo connected Chapters there are some Deathwatch sons of Dorn feeling a bit betrayed. Not to mention they Deathwatch being founded by the Last Imperial Fist.

Interesting video. I know WD had an article yeeeeears ago (like pre 2008) on converting the Black Dragons and other mutant chapters (I think they had just released the lost &damned box set). Might be some answers there?

We know from Spear of the Emperor by ADB that the Mentors are Ultramarines successors; I can't quite explain it without spoiling, but due to some medical shit later in the book, we essentially get confirmation that they are children of Ultramar.

"Don't @ me, Minotaurs players" Thats ironic coming from an Imperials Fist, seeing as the chapter most meant to exemplify your ideals had most of its ranks fall to chaos and join the *I R O N W A R R I O R S !*

The Fire Lords are 100% an Imperial Fists successor chapter, they took part in the Feast of Blades in "Lost and the Damned" by Rob Sanders. (Which is, the gimmiest grimdark novel in the 40k universe and is grimdark for BOTH sides. It's incredible)

I have quite a large Exorcist marine army by now. The flexibility in rules along with the cool look is just like having your cake and eating it too! PS: the big deal about Exorcists is the need to have the exorcism after their possession ritual (hence the close cooperation with Ordo Malleus) and pretty much all sources quote GK gene seed making the primarch the Big E.

8:23 also, it seen like the Horus Heresy indicated that a fair amount of the Corvidae was NOT on Prosperus when it burned... and therefore wasn't taken with Magnus when he warped his sons to the Planet of the Sorcerers. But I haven't quite reached that book yet, so it's hearsay to me, but, if it is true, than the Ravens might well be Corvidae found by Jaghatai before they were found by Russ

My home brew the "Bad Bishops" is similar to the exorcists but originate from Blood Angels gene seed. They're excommunicated because they have a tendency of using demons for demon weapons and occasionally falling to chaos which makes the chapter execute brothers from time to time

Black Dragons are an offical unoffical successor and in some of the last 40k Salamander novels they basically say their geneseed is closer to theirs to any other cousins geneseed. There is alot of heresay weather 21st 23rd and 26th foundings had unqiue chapters like the 21st being known as the curse founding.

5:44 in the game Inquisitor, it is mentioned that any soul can only be ifnested once by a daemon, so, in the rare ocasion that someone will manage to actually expell a daemon from their souls, they will be forever more imune to their influence... and keep part of the daemon's powers to themselves. Spoiler for the Inquisitor plotline ahead: in the game, a certain Inquisitor have a plan to force the entirety of humanity through a process in which they would be possessed in a controlled space and aided in expelling the daemon out (or easily terminated if they failed to), making humanity imune to possession or corruption by the Warp. Theoretically, this would also allow the entirety of humanity to use psychic abilities without risking perils of the warp. The catch is: it would likely kill over 95% of humanity in the process, and the remaining forces would likely be crushed by the multitude of foes the Imperium face, regardless of being uncorruptable

It's all theory craft and all but I do so like the idea of Blood Ravens originating from loyalist parts of Thousand Sons legion. The story of their fall is truly tragic and the thought of some of Thousand Sons carrying on in the Emperors light, redeeming themselves is somehow comforting.
@radiationpony84494 жыл бұрын
As a fire lords player I've always seen them as successors (at least in spirit) of the black Templar, they differently are more aggressive then your average son of Dorn. As far as proof they ARE sons of Dorn its only (to my knowledge) been mentioned once as a fire lords Chaplin attended the feast of blades, where the last 3 space marine codexes have called them reminiscent of salamanders, and evey codex since 5th ed have had them as unknown

My only custom chapter is the Forgotten Sons, space marines from the Abyssal Crusade who stayed loyal but wound lost in the warp, now they return with armor, weapons, and vehicles that are in disrepair as their sole Techmarine and master of the forge for their chapter works to keep their vessel and equipment functioning. Need ideas for color schemes of some of them though..

Upon Proclamation of the High Lords of Terra, there is no controversy about the Minotaurs. You will need to report to your local Inquisition office to undergo appropriate loyalty testing and adjustment to assist you in removing your doubts.

Off topic, it'd be interesting to see if the Sororitas will receive any upgrades as a result of Cawl's work. Maybe a new armor design and non-Astartes genetic augmentations? It could be a good storyline too--the amount of skub that would result because of their reverence for their older wargear would be fun to see.
@CrimsonUltrafox4 жыл бұрын
I always sort of thought that the reason so many of the cursed 21st founding chapters came out screwed up is because they were possibly mixed gene-seeds. Maybe the reason some came out unmutated was because the chimeric combination was compatible. The Minotaurs for example could possibly be Iron Warriors and World Eaters. I'm not saying this is canon, so don't come at me too hard guys. It's just an interesting concept to explain what why the Cursed Founding created so many mutant chapters.
