DR. K PLEASE READ THIS: In Voicemeeter, you can set a limiter to each "strip" by left click + drag downwards on the "LED" volume indicators. I saw that you are hitting Red levels pretty god damn often and even if it sometimes isn't audible its not pleasant for your ears. Going in to Red values means the signal is "Clipping". If the signal is clipping, something/somewhere is distorting the output signal. Historically, peoples speakers have “poof’d” because of clipping. But this is nothing to worry about in this case. I heard you say you had VST-Host installed on your computer. That allows you to use external third party VST-FX Plug-Ins. My tip would be that you should try and find a tutorial on how to set up a effect chain with an EQ, Compressor and Limiter (At least a Limiter in the FX Chain!). You literally have everything installed to get a really good mic sound if you set it all up correctly :)

She probably geuinly does want help, but she still also could still be a toxic person. The two can co-exist. I hope she geuinly gets better and she does seem to geuine about most of these things, however I dont think that makes her entitled to other peoples trust or forgiveness. She accepts she fucked up and It does seem shes geuine about it, and she really doesnt come off like she is trying to seek other peoples forgiveness. However her accepting that shes fucked up and moving through it does not erase the actions that she did Or make her entitled to people forgiving her. The reason that I don't think shes being manipulative is because of 1:24:56. I have dealt with manipulative people in the past and they don't think like that. Is it just me or her talking a lot, jumping from topic to topic, talking with rich and vibrant vocabulary is some sort of defense mechanism? Every time Dr. K. pressed gently on a serious issue, she immediately ran away into "storytelling" territory where she talked and talked and in the same time, mentally separating herself from emotions and feelings. It felt like Dr. K was chasing a bunny through a complicated maze, and every time one would think that Dr. K. "had" her pinned against the wall she managed to get away from his grasp. And when he finally "had" her during meditation, calmed her down and had her focused on one hard memory she was legitimately scared. I know jackshit about psychology but I don't think she had dealt with everything on an emotional level. Her brain processed everything, she definitely put a lot of thought into her past, her abuse, her papa dying, her recent cheating, but I don't think she's emotionally ready to deal with everything she lived through. It's good that she's seeing a therapist, she will definitely need some help with that.
@VerbalLearning4 жыл бұрын
It could be a defense mechanism, it could also be that she has so many years of unproccessed thoughts and emotions all bottled up that whenever she does open up, the dam kinda bursts and it all comes flooding out at once, thus making it very scattered, unfocused, rambly and a bit chaotic. It's also possible that because focusing in on one memory makes her scared as you put it, she then has to move quickly from topic to topic as to avoid lingering in one place and feeling that fear, which is understandable.

The best friend grand dad breakdown I've personally seen twice, some of them forget the people they see everyday and I've had the same story about my real name about a hundred times. Its heart breaking to see someone just forget everything about themselves. And its not forgetting temporarily, they lose the memory permanently. I've seen people forget their spouse's face, and talk to them about them without knowing why the spouse is crying. I can relate to her "depersonalisation". When I got too much going on and feel like things are slipping out of my control I kinda just check out and cruise along. It doesn't make anything better or less urgent, but I can ignore it easier until pressure gets too much and I feel like I swallowed hot lead, or whatever I was ignoring catches up with me and bites me in the ass. Can be really tough to get out of a rut like that but I'm getting better at forcing myself to do unpleasant things that need to get done. Even doing smaller stuff like cleaning etc helps me stay ontop of more important things like taxes, work, relationship maintenance or physical health.
@Fahad-214 жыл бұрын
For me, depersonalization is like when I do certain things, and convince myself that someone else did it, not me. Like I had times in my life where I would act completely opposite to my values, as if I were acting for a different life and not my own. So even though it's messed up, it's still an actual thing that can happen to some. It also makes people feel wrongly justified to do something wrong, just because "it's not me that's doing, it's another side of me. I guess an easier way to explain this is in acting, when you play certain parts, you get too emotionally into the part. You become an entirely different person in that moment. And somethings you just feel in that moment because you are supposed to feel it, not because you necessarily do(example: losing a loved one in a play that you are part of and acting that part out). That's what depersonalization feels like to me. I worry that this kind of personality is sociopathic and detached though.

Here's the thing that everyone needs to understand and most do: Everyone makes mistakes, it is a part of living and it's unavoidable. The mistakes that we make derive from our state of mind and what's important to understand is that your state of mind changes constantly, it is how we are able to grow. The one thing that we do well is learn from our mistakes, which allows us to become better than who we were and closer to who we want to be. It is our responsibility to act upon our mistakes and not run away from them. It is only realistic way to move forward, literally.

@Darthwing Xodius for 1 thats an extreme which shouldn't be used for arguments sake (if you friend jumps of a bridge would you join them situation). 2 actually in Christianity you should forgive everyone before death. But let's not talk about religion. Forgive doesnt mean you have to like that person, it means you need to let go of the hate, but to not forget means that there actions should not go without consequence.
@Claytonbeastboy4 жыл бұрын
@Darthwing Xodius bro you misunderstand. The whole point is that you shouldn't tell anyone to forgive someone, that's stupid forgiveness is as you say something that comes from within and should be a persons choice. Let's say A guy named John killed someone close to both of us. I think he should be punished, and over time i will forgive his actions (saying I don't hate him) but you don't have too. People have their choices. Forgiveness is just what should be done for peace. Also as a side note I love to argue its fun. I didn't say or imply that I didn't want to. Extremes are just dumb points for arguments because it's like rare hypotheticals mostly and is like that label on some products you may buy that say *exceptions may apply* which goes for anything.
@Claytonbeastboy4 жыл бұрын
@Darthwing Xodius well I mean I can't argue with that because that is what forgiveness is, but there is multiple situations of forgiveness, whether its guilt, hate, or some other form. And hypothetical was the wrong word. The whole point is that it is an extreme and that level of forgiveness is a grey area that i wouldn't expect someone to get over. It would be too taxing for a normal person to just let go of that

Something really clicked with me after watching this. I think it’s easy for everyone to group up on the “bad guy”. And we forgot that we are all just people. And that even the “bad guy” has a story. I wouldn’t support the mistakes Kate has made, but it was very heart warming to hear her story. And I don’t think of her as a “bad guy” anymore. More of another person with problems. I respect her coming on here and opening up.

Honestly one of the best streams, at the start Dr. K said "I don't know anything about your situation" and then I thought OH NO this is NOT gonna go good for Kate and was cringing so hard. Then later I was laughing my ass off when Dr K left when shit was getting serious and then almost tearing up when Kate talked about her abuse. The stream was a rollercoaster of emotions

Dr. K, at 1:52:55 you said you need to process for a second because you are feeling overwhelmed. What are you doing in those moments to help yourself overcome those feelings? I think this was a very good interview to show how even social media influencers, and entertainers are people too. I was quite surprised but also happy that Kate was able to share as much as she did about her life, how she felt about certain events, and also how she overcame them. I try not to judge others just from hearing one perspective as many things happened to me in my life as well, however I will admit it is easier when it is breaking news about some person on the internet I've never met before. I did judge Kate when I first learned about her and the incident but until now I didn't get to hear her side of the story and just sort of glanced at headlines and the such. Having Kate in this interview be as open as she was, was probably the most eye opening evidence to me that streamers are people too. You said it was okay to judge but why is it okay?

If you blindly hate someone just because you heard he/she did something bad is just a sign that you're really immature. It's easy to jump on the bandwagon of hating Katerino for what she did. Everyone fucks up sometimes, some much more than others. But people can change and if you actually listened and internalized what was told here you can clearly see she understands what she did and learnt from it.
@sleepysapa98744 жыл бұрын
I didn't really like Kate after I read about what she did, but watching this changed my perspective of her. What she did was definitely not ok, but we shouldn't bash her and hate her whole. It's weird being a public figure on the internet because the public doesn't know anything else besides what you decide to show them. Anyways, I respect everyone equally, and their actions make me either gain or lose respect for them. Respect is always fluctuating. Always have a minimum respect for everyone, and treat them as human beings who do stupid stuff.

By the end of the talk itself, I can't help but sense that her self-forgiveness and willingness to outwardly reject being a victim are themselves subtle forms of defensiveness. I'm for sure missing a lot of context, but she doesn't come across in the talk as someone who's really understood themselves and found peace; it sounds like she's really smart and knows what a good, level-headed person is supposed to project in these situations. It's like "I see myself as fundamentally good-to the point I'm angry if a friend suggests otherwise-and a good person doesn't play the victim, so I'll say that I'm at fault and not a victim, also I'll forgive myself for it." I'm being a bit harsh in my assessment, but it's what came to mind while watching. I think she has the capacity to get where she says she is, I just wasn't convinced she's made it there yet.

@@alfreddelatourquipenche8287 i dont think that holds true for every adolescent though, i feel like very few teens or whatever go into their sex life with the amount of info needed for it to be, uh, graceful. usually it's awkward. and i mean obviously the main point of sex ed is to teach kids about safe sex, but i think it could also help decrease awkwardness arising from sexual misinformation, or just lack of information, and i think that'd be especially helpful for people with vaginismus, because i'd imagine young men that aren't informed about that would be weirded out and it would just be a bad experience. maybe that sort of thing isn't worth spending much time on, but if there's gonna be sex ed lessons anyway, might as well briefly cover the bases of some common sexual conditions, because as kate said it's fairly common, some estimates say as many as 6% of women experience it

@buckchelsey46304 жыл бұрын
She's AWFUL at explaining her thoughts. Watching her say "ya know" 500 times, also watching her resort to saying depersonalization instead of just saying what she really wants to say. I feel there's a deeper reason inside her and that her "depersonalization" is just a cover up to the real reasons behind what she did. I don't know if she's scared, if she's trying to hide something, if there's a really dark side to her she doesn't want people to know about. Who knows, but "vagina thing" and other ways she handles questions from Dr. K are really odd.
