Absolutely Chanchal. This is how a car review ought to be. For instance, see how clearly Vivek demystify what type of hybrid this vehicle is and how the engine and electric motor puts out the power that is rated for this car. JD’s explanation, that its not by mere adding up of numbers how the maximum power/torque is measured is another example on how an honest review out to be. For someone like me, such information is new and of value. Such details, I am yet to see in any reviews about this car, so far. I am sure however, sales team would use it, ie., to add up numbers for sales pitch 😄

I used 2007 model Toyota Prius. Even after 13 years I used to get fuel efficiency above 50 MPG. Used to get better mileage in city traffic. Expect same with city hybrid. They could have given hatchback design like Toyota Prius.

Biggest concern is pricing as they would price it as a HONDA which might make it a premium product... I'm also experiencing the same harsh ride issue over those small speed breaker in my Jazz too... @@Moonlight-hq3gi The OP purports a "bigger battery pack" with a 1 L engine.That's the crux. EV battery weighs 25-30 kg/kWh. So even a 10kwh battery would add 250-300 kg to the car's kerb weight. Such a car would be painfully underpowered.

@@anandhu_kh Bro 1.2 litre with CVT is not that great.... I have test driven both petrol and diesel.... For amaze diesel CVT is far better than petrol... Petrol feels underpowered... If you have more money... Better go with City V CVT... That 1.5 litre petrol with CVT is very good combination...

Is it a fun to drive Car? Or is it only meant for mileage centric people who are ready to sacrifice driving fun over everything else it has to offer. I don't think it is answered well. Many Slavia/Virtus potential buyers might still want to consider City Hybrid as an option, If it is quick enough and fun to drive. I have been following TalkingCars since they started, and have been eagerly waiting for every new video since then. I hope we will see more City/Slavia/Virtus comparison videos in the coming days. Hope TalkingCars wouldn't mind doing one.

Hondas are generally criticized for their over-intrusive active safety features (Honda Sensing). That clearly seems to be the case here too. Beep beep all the time.

@@ajaysundar it's not just about the Lane Change Alert. Sensing's Auto Emergency Braking is notorious for stopping the car without anything in front of it. Their Adaptive Cruise Control also has been loathed for slamming the brakes too fast and then struggling to pickup the pace. I'm not talking about just the City, but about the Sensing package in general.

Great review guys! What about the cost of maintenance? I read somewhere that the battery has to be replaced every 3 months! Also with all this tech will it be a much more expensive car to maintain compared to the normal city

No way someone told you that. Battery won’t have be replaced every 3 months…it is supposed to last the lifetime of the car, Honda offers 8 year warranty on the battery.

No intention for me to watch any other youtubers video review. You guys are perfect! I wish Honda give a little bit bigger battery capacity which can be charged separately like proper electric car. That would have been given us insane mileage. No need for the engine to waste more fuel to charge the battery. As you guys mentioned, 40-50KM battery only millage would have done wonders. There might be lots of technical challenges/constrains which might have prevented Honda to do so. Anyways, great move by Honda.

A Honda Amaze with 90-100 hp electric motor with 250-300 km range, and put their own EX2400S genset so that it would not run out for that occasional long trips. Priced at around 15 lakh on road would be dream combo. On full battery it may run like any other EV. While battery is out it can run on genset at reduced power. Do it honda, dont give me any royalty
