I used to drive down the M40 to London on the reg for business and I used the Park & Ride at Hillingdon then the tube to get around - not any more - Khan has put cameras on the entrance and exit to the station - the net result is that I now refuse to go to London for business at all. Who wins and who loses? It is more cost effective to do business elsewhere in the UK and London businesses now get nothing. Fine work Mr. Khan.

During COVID then the Labour council in Slough converted the main two lane A4 through the town in to a bus lane. In an FOI request then they claimed that it would reduce pollution. There are traffic lights every 300m for about 5 miles. And the road runs through the biggest privately owned trading estate in Europe and so there's lots of lorries & vans. Unsurprisingly the queues at traffic lights are now many times longer than before and it takes much longer to get across town which suggests that pollution has increased.

The reason that it's had little or no affect is due to deminishing returns, as vehicles have got so clean, (even older vehicles), that the pollution from them is miniscule compared to years ago. This was simply a cash grab and the areas now included in the ULEZ are more or less rural in some areas, (Biggin Hill KENT being an example).
