Thursday is “not a good night for the SNP”, Nicola Sturgeon has said as the exit poll suggests the party could drop to as few as 10 seats.
The BBC/ITV/Sky survey was published as polls closed at 10pm, predicting a 170 seat majority for Labour across the UK.
Sir Keir Starmer’s party’s success appears to have extended north of the border, with the SNP losing 38 seats compared with the 2019 election.

Education has taken a huge hit under them. Never did get our class sizes under 30. Instead they’ve had to seriously invest in an online schooling scheme-bc all the experienced teachers are leaving due to stress, paperwork, bad behaviours in school etc. SQA on about using hobbies, voluntary work and alternatives to count towards grades in school, schools getting rid of study periods and making kids provide Peer support in classes instead of paying for teaching support assistants. Some schools started stopping parents reading books at home with kids for homework-instead, the teacher reads it to them in class together! Before an assistant or the teacher would have the child read to them and the parent reinforce it. Now the one on one stuff is being removed. Everything is centralised and under pressure and not meeting needs, just caring about an arbitrary target (that they still never meet).
