The reason why they want immigration is because the UK is mostly a low skill economy. They need GDP growth so they can continue to borrow. It is nothing to do with being seen as a horrible person, as Starmer has shown us when he removed the WFA from pensioners. The UK has flatlined since 2008/09 in terms of productivity and the FTSE100 index, while it believed that currency devaluation through QE and ZIRP would spur investment. As we can see this economic policy has failed. With the UK aging population, welfare and health both take up 20 percent of the tax take each, while interest on the national debt takes up 12 percent. We can blame immigrants all we like, but its voters voting for free stuff wanting house prices always going up that got us here.
