To be fair all the caller is wrong. UK have always been a sovereign country even if sometimes didn't look/felt like that (this is also written on the white paper). Germany definetly isn't EU boss, it doesn't even work like that, it is the most powerfull country on the parlament... but UK was the most powerfull before Brexit, so by that logic before Brexit UK was the boss of EU. Also to be fair xenophobe are probably the guys that did the right vote, since the only thing you will win with Brexit is control of your borders... ofcourse that have a negative impact on trade. You can also do some rules that violates the treaty (that UK agree when signed), but most of them are standardized to facilitate trade across EU not only in goods, human rights, democracy, consumer protection, also there green policies that you don't want to follow... or atleast uk already cut the funding. Also that thing he said about prisioners is not a EU rule, is a common rule in a lot of countries the right to have another trial to prove innocence if there is new evidence... if the prisioner is innocent they can get big money compensations for the the time they lost, at least on USA.

ok. James Whale. Everyone in the comments section is pro-brexit pretty much so of course you're all going to be calling him this that and whatever, and crying about the EU and proclaiming what a great country we are (we're really not, we're average, with a slight hint of small island syndrome). James Whale, despite being a bit of a patronising twat to the caller, has valid points, what he needs to improve on isn't what he stands for but the way he argues it because with an attitude like that he's just belittling those who go against him and that won't win them over. But, like I said, I agree with his points. I think Brexit is stupid. There are some valid reasons and there are some reasons that are missing a few chromosomes. And as the caller said, 'I would rather be worse off and out of Europe', that is a really dumb statement. Afghanistan is independent, they're worse off than Holland who is part of the EU. I know where everyone in this country would want to live out of the two and that debunks his point completely there.

We govern ourselves, 10s of thousands of laws have been passed by parliament with a small handful being affected by the EU so all the trading laws are the same to smoothen trade. WE have control over our borders, there are EU regulations that stop migrants that are potentially going to be a burden on the state, its up to the Government of the UK to implement them properly, which it hasn't done. Oh well, might as well blame the EU for everything the government has done wrong. We are potentially going to leave a system that we have been a part of for 40 odd years without any sort of transition period. We are potentially going to reignite the violence in the North of Ireland. Business after business is shutting up shop and causing job losses due to the uncertainty. "Oh it will be grand in 10-20 years time". Not many people can wait that long. Oh the "29th will be our independence day" gag is hilarious. The UK has independence, Germany has independence, France has independence. Scotland doesn't, Catalonia doesn't, Wales doesn't, the Basque country doesn't. Hell I would bet my life savings that all the leaders of 'Brexit' would be on the complete opposite side when coming to these countries.
