Saka returning in two months after a full on grade 3 hamstring tear is not remotely likely. Tearing a hamstring not only requires months of healing but months of rehab just to get the muscle back to where it was. Bigger picture, and this sounds extreme, but I think Saka should be shut down for the remainder of the season. Hamstring tears, if not properly allowed to heal and rehab, can literally ruin careers. Particularly for explosive players like Saka. Because what ends up happening is the body overcompensates if rush backed too quickly and the hamstring injury then creates quad problems. Which then leads to calf problems. Which then leads to hip flexor problems. And before you know it you end up like Mount at 24-25 who can’t stay fit for more than a few matches at a time. Saka’s long-term career should be the priority. Not rushing him back.

Was literally having this discussion with my gf today. There are some injuries that the club can't prevent, e.g. those that happen from impacts on the pitch. But so many injuries, especially hamstring problems, are preventable if you manage players correctly. Nuno is a great example of this. He had hardly any serious injuries at Wolves & Forest's injury record has vastly improved under him as well. Why? Because he listens to his medical team & prioritises his players' careers over playing them in every game. He doesn't overplay players or rush them back. It's no coincidence that CHO has gone from being one of the most injury prone players in the league to barely ever being injured under Nuno. Saka has not been managed correctly. Arteta has lost him for months because he refused to drop him for an odd game here or there against relegation fodder. If he rushes him back he risks ruining his career.

Sterling was a temporal market opportunity so we can afford to have him a s a cover for any of the wingers. Tight hamstring muscles causes a tear, not playing too many games. You can play once a month and still tear it if your game includes sprinting. The idea is to be supple, warm up correctly, and if you have a tendency towards hamstring strains, let it completely heal before you play. Any 100 metre sprinter will tell you this.

Most top level players at this stage of the season are always carrying a small niggle in the case of saka probably already had a minor strain in that muscle and was playing through it. This has been coming for a long time, I thought it would have been from a tackle and not something as innocuous as what happened but its the sad reality of modern football. Too many games and pressure on managers to get constant results meaning they don't want to rest their best players or play ones that are out of form. It's not just because we don't have cover for Saka its also the lack of cover up front, Jesus successfully played at RW for city so he could easily have stepped in for a few games but his lack of form and also the lack of cover we had for his main position for us made that impossible for Arteta to do I'd rather we are overcareful with Sakas return so it doesn't jeopardize his recovery and lead to more muscle problems in his future

January transfer is never good. Because teams don't want to sell their best players unless the player's contract is ending or he asks out. I'd say Arsenal should go for Sane as his contract is ending next year and he might be the cheaper option and Bayern Munich is willing to negotiate now instead of losing him for free.
