Same was said about Denmark at last Euros....then we beat them...but it was disregarded. Nobody ever gives England credit when they beat good teams. It's always the other team was terrible! If we get Italy in QF, it will be similar IF we beat them. When we win, it's always because the other team was bad or had a bad day.

But let's face it, how many matches have we seen in the last 3 tournaments where 2 elite teams meet early on, who are at the very top of their respective 'game'? The matches after the initial group stages are seeded so that that rarely happens. So of course there's always a favourite and an underdog. If you see what I mean?

But alot of that is because England have won opening games and topped the group! That's the reward for topping the group. Anyway, there are no easy games nowadays. The lesser teams can be all the more dangerous because they are underestimated. Those lesser teams got to the latter stages on merit, in Slovakia beating Belgium or Switzerland drawing Germany, etc. Gotta be careful of underestimating teams especially Switzerland and Austria. Look at Morocco last WC, wouldn't want to have played them. Also Denmark were more than a half decent side last Euros and we beat them. Germany weren't the best but it's still a high pressure game with all the history and rivalry. Bit like when Liverpool meet Everton....always a tough game

Every tournement with Gareth we have had easy groups and easy games in the draw this time is different easy draw yet we can’t beat teams like Slovenia and Denmark Christ sake and got very lucky against Serbia otherwise we would have 3 points in this group how embarrassing is that going in as favourites by many and then play like that and they come out and say they need support how much more support do you need for months we was all bigging up them up actually going into a tournement as favourites for once and they still play like that and every time players coming out saying we will work on it and then even worse performance get rid of Gareth and let the players manage themselfs as we probably only have 1 game left anyway

England have been far too soft- the old ‘ they don’t like it up’’em Mr Mainwaring ‘ - play players to upset opposition - try Anthony Gordon to run full backs - I don’t care how good they are - on the their tenth 30 metre sprint against Gordon , they will not be so good and will be scared shitless. Get Kane on the bench , put Olly Watkins through the middle , young , fit , strong and aggressive who will score goals. Kane has been awful. Play Mainoo , he offers something unique in this team, and then sort out which golden boy is going to sit out . Maybe Foden, Bellingham , Saka can’t be on the field together - and Palmer at least deserves a chance . Trying to keep them all happy is killing the team. Mainly though , this team will have to win despite Southgate , the team’s weak link. Truly appalling , belt and braces , safety first, a frightened coward .
