@@treble20 You do know Southgate is the most successful England manager ever right? I'm really just mystified at the lack of intellect football fans are displaying here. Do you really think England are entitled to win every tournament despite the fact they have done so once in a hundred years? Footballs an interesting sport. Yamal might have peaked. I also think at the start of the tournament, the only one of those players who would’ve gotten into the England 11 is Rodri. Nico Williams probably taken ahead of Gordon. But I think the issue is mostly a tactical one. One that cannot be fixed in a short time frame but likely requires 1-2 years. A coach with a certain philosophy and playing style is needed for that.

It’s lazy to name people like Klopp or Pep; managing international teams is completely different than managing a league squad, where you get to spend every day with the players, work on coaching, buy/sell who you want, etc. I would be looking at someone like Gary Linekar tbh, surrounded by a team of strong coaches.

English managers haven't won anything. Graham potter succeeded just like De Zerbi because of Brighton's footballing structure, he flopped at Chelsea. Eddie Howe is at money bags Newcastle, he has no innate talent. The best managers are foreign, they win things, don't turn this into a Brexit going it alone thing, both haven't work, go for the win not vain patriotism. Real patriotism is winning, not this mediocrity!

That last caller was talking out of his backside. Obviously Southgate would have known Kane wasn’t fully fit. The whole coaching staff along with Kane would have had these discussions, he was probably pumped with a load of pain killers hoping he could get through. It was a gamble which ultimately never worked.

Pep Guardiola has been at Man City for almost 10 years. He has had arguably the best club in Europe every single year, and the last time I checked he has won just ONE champions league. Jurgen Klopp is a God to me, but he doesn't have the best record in finals either. The point I'm making here is, it's TOURNAMENT football. It's a different ball game.

I think xavi is the perfect replacement and i think he would take the job. Hear me out..... He did a solid, although slightly underwhelming, job at Barca under extremely difficult circumstances. He kept barca competitive despite financial constraints, relative to the big clubs they compete with. He brought through youth like gavi, pedri and yamal....amongst others...and played in a brave attractive way. His tactical understanding is very high and he has the x factor that demands respect from the biggest footballing stars of which England have many. Players like TAA, Stones, Guehi, Mainoo, Rice, Bellingham, Foden, Saka, Palmer, Eze, Wharton and many others who weren't even taken are extremely technical players who play high pressing attacking football for their clubs and want to play that way for England. It would take only a few training camps for england to transform the way they play and become a fearful team. On xavi, where does he go from Barcelona if not England? If he wants to be an elite manager up their with the very best? He may want to manage in the PL one day but his experience of english football is not yet at a level where he could know he can take on a PL club and win. England gives him the opportunity to gain this experience and show he can win. And win he would. At a time where england are crying out for an attacking manager with winning mentality and experience and a time where xavi is struggling to see what his next step would be following a difficult yet well executed job at Barcelona. I think the stars are aligned and everyone benfits after a four year stint. England would get the success this generation deserves and the footballing philosophy that enables them to throw caution to the wind because of the fear they generate whilst xavi is able to build on his managerial experience, remain in the glittering spotlight and not become forgotten, learn the english game and open up a new job market for himself through implementing a winning philosophy into an unbelievably talented group of players who already are bred to play football in this expansive way. Finally and perhaps most importantly, he isnt going to upset the apple cart, he is professional, never controversial, good with media and a poster boy. The FA wins from this appointment too. Food for thought i cant believe more people arent saying it

Klopp would be brilliant for ENG, he knows the English spirit so well, though I don't think he'd touch it, due to the English media. Could you imagine how much a certain newspaper would be chomping at the bit to criticise him! The stick previous ENG managers got from the press was so out of order, Turnip Taylor etc, the problem with having a foreign manager is they are easy targets when things aren't going well, which they must know that themselves.
@LordHighness

I'd pick KLOPP anytime if he's available. If you ask which is more pressure for Klopp to coach - his country germany or England, then his answer would be germany which will be more pressure. But if you ask him to choose from these two countries it'll be still germany if they don't have a coach at that time. But I still feel why not try Klopp, he knows how the english players will behave how the press are. He pretty well know the current english squad . He'll have the respect of players & fans. Try him because he's available.

Even being a MANU fan, I would go along with that. HARRY REDKNAPP would be my choice tho. He doesn't bog players down with over elaborate tactics and lets them express their ability when on the ball. Just look how he transformed Gareth Bale from an OK full back into one of the best attacking midfielders Britain has ever produced. He backed Bale and told him he was the greatest, so when he went on the field, he believed in himself.
Why England Have NEVER Won the EUROs and Probably WON'T!
