It doesn't matter if We finish above Man Utd or not. Neither of us are getting a CL spot. For Villa 4th was a must. The Financial rules have done their job and stopped us competing. Chelsea were always going to come back at some point. How do you compete with a club that can leave their best players out of a European squad when you're forced to sell your best players? I think dan is spot on, until this last weekend villa were 4th in the xG table but scored 5 goals less than our xG. Its bad finishing from the team that is making us have to play from behind. Also we are conceding the first goal to the first shot time after time, that is just bad luck so I can't see that continuing either. Villa need to just stay at it and wait for the goals and then that will bring points and that will bring confidence and that will make us good again. I had faith in the process. UTV!

The real match on Wednesday night that Villa fans should be paying attention to, Birmingham vs Stockport. Go watch Louie Barry, or even Bate. Id rather watch our rivals face one of our real prospects, playing in and against a well oiled and managed team, than a bunch of over the hill, collecting a wage, foreigners (yep i said it), who have no care, loyalty or love for this club. And i say this with no xenophobia or prejudice, before the internet knights come out. I know what flex has dealt with recently. Its all about the money at the top ends of the pyramid. And taking it from the long standing and long supporting follower. Id rather see long term planning and development with some pragmatic theory behind it, than rinsing and cash grabbing. It became too easy to obtain a Villa starting shirt. Digne, Carlos, Coutinho, Sanson, Dendoncker. Dare i say Onana, Duran, Tielemans or Kamara. And it became too easy to look at Emery with rose tinted glasses for finishing "4th". Question everything. If every other competition has to be sacrificed to obtain that money tournament, nothing was ever fixed. Especially with the investment level at our club. Issues ignored and forgotten about until they come back to bite at the worst time. We used to aim high and achieve goals. Now its move the goalposts at every missed opportunity. Villa could have been top last Christmas, if it wasnt for poor games versus United and Sheffield United. Not saying we would have stayed there! Gave up in a European Semi also, to maintain the 4th position, just. All while keeping "PSR" quiet until recently. That mystical thing that affects all those who overspend smh. Proper players aren't motivated by that. If those running the club cant see that, we will always be on this hamster wheel. Time to see through the shortcuts and shortcomings. If you watch the game like a fan, you'll forever be disappointed. Let the blind and the casuals keep the billionaires and inept bookkeepers afloat. They will then be forced into recruiting and working for real, when the revenues are affected. We might aswell play youtubers and celebs in the team, the way finances and engagement are prioritised now. The modern game became mediocre. Maresca, Andoni Iraola and Hurzeler are the bench mark for progressive, hungry, young ambitious managers. Fix up
