Remember seeing how great Kieron was at Ipswich and was delighted Newcastle signed him! Great to hear him speaking now, and interesting hearing about Ruud's power trip! Dyer was absolutely class for us under Sir Bobby, just gutted he had so many injuries. Remember Dyer, Solano, Speed, Robert, Bellamy, and Shearer - what a front six!

I never seen much of Gullit but I know this guy is a player that transcends all eras. Look at his physique. He would be just as world class in today's football. I cannot say the same for majority of the players of his era. For example greats like Beckenbaur and Cryuff; I honestly think their names are bigger than their actual ability.

 @supermancd1988 You could put him in any outfield position to fit him into an all time XI. He was that good. R9 did a similar thing when talking to the Valladolid strikers. He thought he was letting them in on a secret that only some strikers knew 😂 He said to them "Guys let me tell you how to score almost every time. All you have to do is fake your shot, wait for the goalkeeper to go down and then you can just walk around him and tap it in" 🤦‍♂ And they all thought yeah only a hand full of players in history have done that regularly at the top level 😂

Fair play to Dyer. Seems like a top bloke & has matured & learnt life lessons. Remember him scoring a hat-trick v Oxford Utd while at Ipswich. Electric pace & looked like he could be a real top player but can't help thinking wasted talent. Never improved technically. No left foot, couldn't head the ball & awareness was never there. Also the headlines about spit-roasting girls in Ayia Napa with Rio & Lampard made me despise uneducated, wealthy footballers who were so detached from working class fans.
@stuboy13

Probably a few working class fans that have spit roasted girls in Ayia Napa to be fair. His tales of being misdiagnosed are rough like. Awful time with injuries and like you say he never developed much in terms of his game. Guess he was maxed out already. Ruud Gullit he was not.

Ruud wasn’t smart enough and over worked the players during pre season. And dyer was never smart enough or fit enough. When he was he could have bursts of fabulousness but he’s fade away. As for Ruud, He finished in the bottom half with us the season before, changed everything, but only narrowly lost the cup but wouldn’t have got there if not for shearers goals, then in the season he got sacked he completely wore the players minds out and lost them. We were getting beat too easily. Was early in the season but he was lucky to still be there coukd got sacked weeks before. Then entered the great one sir Bobby. To which Bobby had problems with dyer because dyer wasn’t reliable at times. He was better than jenas, but players like solano, speed, shearer and Bellamy carried the team forward. We were just awful at the back. Still finished 4th 3rd and 5th and hammered most teams. And ultimately would have won a few cups of not for getting drawn all the time to Man U who had Scholes Giggs etc. anyway, Bobby had a rough start to the season, but he had aged a lot. He didn’t have the same effect on the players wasn’t preparing as much and we weren’t winning plus it was the start of the end because the new owners had taken shape, and the likes of Bellamy dyer Robert etc were causing issues… Bobby was put Graham was in… a clueless man. Split the side up. With dyer playing well but that’s cos he couldn’t slack off with Graham there. Anyway, solano left, replaced by the awful Milner, and speed left, replaced with Nicky butt, Bellamy left so we stuck with kluivert who was well passed his prime, so we got found out couldn’t handle big games and things went bad. Still finished 7th under the late Glen R tho.
