Anyone that goes to United games, is probably wearing a shirt, paid 70 quid to get into the stadium, bought a pint and chips for 10 quid. Chanting "we want Glazers out" literally does nothing. If you want to hurt them, stop going to games, cancel subscriptions" If you genuinely think chants are going to drive businessmen out of a club, then youve been brainwashed by Sky sports. The fanbase can say theyve been "protesting for 18 years" but theyve only had one effective one where they got the game cancelled against Liverpool

I agree. It's so weird to see people protesting against the owners after they've paid probably over 100 quid to said owners to watch the game live. If they stopped giving them money, maybe they'd leave.

Most Man United fans will agree on the business part of what Simon says. What I take issue with is how Simon always reduces the blame on the Glazers for our poor performances. Who do you think employs these incompetent employees?? You always say about how much money we spend but never take into account that we literally overpay for everything! A £40mil player for Liverpool would end up costing us £70mil plus double the wages. Our recruitment is a shambles because the Glazers employ incompetent employees. Also when Gary Neville says the Glazers are broke, he doesn’t mean they literally have no money and Simon must know this. Neville clearly means that they do not have the means to spend a billion on the rotting facilities in Old Trafford and Carrington. The only money that gets spend is purely on the clubs revenue or our increasing debt, which they quite simply cannot afford to keep increasing. People do not realise WE SPENT AS MUCH ON DEBT INTEREST LAST YEAR AS WE DID ON TRANSFERS BUT THE GLAZERS STILL TAKE DIVIDENDS

I'm not sure that Simon Jordan does himself any favor's by saying that the Glazers don't need to sell because "they are not short of a bob or two". He is correct in that the Glazer family are wealthy but what Simon fails to acknowledge is that the club needs over £2 billion spent on the stadium, training ground and infrastructure, then on top of that the club is servicing a debt of over £1 billion. Gary Neville's point is that the club has none of it's own money to pay for investment needed, £3 billion +, and the Glazer family will not invest any of their own money in order to pay for all these improvements, they never have invested. Simon is also correct in saying that there are people within the club that are not doing their jobs well enough but that is where the owners should be stepping in and employing the right people in the right roles, remember that it is the DoF and his team that give out ridiculous contracts to players, some United players get over £200k a week where other clubs would be paying that same player £80k a week, which leads on to why it is near on impossible to move these players on when it doesn't work out. The club is completely mismanaged at the top. What we need to remember is that United before the Glazers always had over £300 million in the bank and had the best stadium and training ground in the country, all paid for. All the Glazers had to do was maintain what was there and make small improvements year on year instead of taking ridiculous amounts of money out in dividends. Instead the club is debt ridden with a decaying stadium and training ground and it has maxed out all of it's credit cards.
@davemufcwhitehead2863
@davemufcwhitehead2863 Жыл бұрын
Bang on the money Paul. Couldn't of said it better myself. We all know once the club is sold. And we have no debt and we have a buyer willing to put money into the stadium. Training ground and employing the best in class people in there respective roles the club will go places. I believe we have the right coach. We badly need a dof that knows what he's doing. The recruitment going forward is important to get the correct players to fit ten hags system. And get rid of all the toxic players. Player power at man united needs sorted out. But again if we have the correct owners and make the correct decisions the sky is the limit. We have what city don't have. The history, the fan base. We could over take them again in 5 years if done correctly. Getting rid of these leaches is another thing that's the problem. Holding out for 10 billion is simply outrageous!
@gustaaf1892
@gustaaf1892 Жыл бұрын
You are totally correct in what you've stated with the possible exception of inflating the cost of doing the long outstanding infrastructure refurbishments. It is almost unbelievable that these greedy leeches aren't satisfied with a 6 billion return on the 200 million investment out of their own pocket to buy the club, which they've already had returned through dividends they have gauged out of the club. As we all know, the remaining borrowed money to buy the club was put on to United's tab and that debt has actually grown. They are running the club into the ground. If Qatar withdraws their offer to buy another EPL club, United will inevitably fall yet another rung down the ladder. For greedy people they sure know how to waste money by not appointing a capable Director of football to avoid paying highly inflated transfer fees and salaries for players that aren't priority signings.

United falls short on so many fronts that it is almost embarrassing. It can't even employ a decent Director of Football to avoid paying highly inflated transfer fees and salaries for players that aren't priority signings. Simon is 100% right and I am a Man U fan. The Glazers bought Man U with very little money, as they knew the banks would lend them the rest, like when buying a house, the asset in this case being Man U Club was undervalued by the previous owners, hence the banks agreeing with Glazers and giving them the rest of the money to buy it. So if fans really want to be upset with the way it was bought, the fault lies with the previous sellers and they invited this kind of purchase.

I expect Qatar to move on and buy another EPL, which would inevitably push United another rung down the ladder. Their current offer is effectively about 2 billion more than it appears on face value because they are also taking on a billion in debt as well as about a billion in necessary and long overdue infrastructure refurbishments. Now you could argue they have spent money on players but Richard Arnold came out & said the club needs 1 billion to fix the stadium now where’s that money coming from more debt? Then that has a knock on affect to buy players & then Man Utd stop competing at top 6 level because they have to service the debt interest. So then spending is cut other clubs are already taken over them in overall income made a season.

They are deluded to think we are worth anything up to 10bill in the longer term with a tired stadium and a poor fan experience. Build us a new stadium on par with spurs and sort out the surrounding areas with a decent fan zone... renovate the training facilities and then see what it could be worth.

When the club was up for sale, not one fan group tried to buy it. Tells you everything. The fans love to moan. If you're that offended and the club has 50m fans around the world, £140 each would buy it. Then you can all chip in for the stadium improvements and players you want. Stop moaning otherwise.

Value of Premier League clubs has peaked. It is hard to see where more revenue is going to come from. Very little chance of more matches. TV rights are priced at optimal level. Where in the world is there an opportunity to sell more TV rights? England is not prospering so I think any buyer could wait five years and get as good a deal as they can now.

It's their club , they can do whatever they want with it. Fans of English clubs are delusional, they are customers of the club not stakeholders whether they like it or not. Barcelona, Real Madrid , Bayern Munich are proper clubs as they are owned by the fans, Man Utd have never been owned by the fans , they had plenty of opportunity over the years to try and lead a fan based takeover but they've never even attempted it properly.

Simon justifies everything as pure, smart business. Ok, but this ignores the fact that the club brand is in decline and losing value. It will not increase in value over the longer term with these owners no matter the external market factors. Moreover, any future potential bidder will look at the current process and think, that’s not for me. It’s not good business to hold onto an asset as it declines and build yourself a toxic reputation in the process. I think they’ll end up selling for less down the track than they could get now. How smart will the Glazers look then Simon? Only two bidders today. I predict zero at $7-10 billion.

The money there holding out for is something that might have been possible if they put man uniteds own money into the club. The stadium, training ground, and correct best in class people in the job roles to help the club succeed. They have spent nothing on the stadium, training ground. Give there mates jobs there clearly not qualified to do. Haven't cleared the debt and made shocking decisions. The only thing they have done beautifully is shafted us the fans and run the club into the ground. There a disgrace.

United was valued between 3-5 Billion so they wanted 6.. then when they were offered 6.. they wanted 7 and now apparently they wanted 10Billion!!!.. they’re making easy money with United since the club constantly making Millions no matter how terrible the team form has been and they don’t have and never have to put any of their own money back to the club

Simon started off rough around the edges I think. He was a bit like Piers Morgan at times. Just pushing the boat out sometimes. Contriving contradictory and controversial statements. But he's about the only person I tune into now. Well Shearer too. They actually think. There seems to be this belief amongst onlookers that if you have played football, you understand it. But most pundits or commentators don't. Simon does. So it's good to listen to someone who can actually build a good point.

Can’t really argue with what he’s saying in terms of it being a business but it’d be good if rules were brought in to give fans more of a say.. They have it in Germany and I’m sure it’d work here too.. The Premier League is a brand, clubs wouldn’t lose out on anything the Premier League already brings them and clubs as individual businesses could still hire people like Ed Woodward to go do massive sponsorship deals with Chinese noodle companies and bring in mega amounts of money.. It would just mean if the training facilities need upgrading, they’d get upgraded, if a leaky roof needed fixing, it’d get fixed, people with the interests of a club as their priority ensuring the club isn’t used as a “cash cow” and decisions are made for the betterment of the football club.. Football is more than bunch of businesses and a football club isn’t a typical business, it’s the sport of the people all over the world and football clubs are started by communities of people who love the sport.. They’re not started by rich men who see it as an opportunity to make money, those people push their way in waving cash about and rinse the sport while having zero clue about it..

Hardcore Man Utd fans have not done what is effective. You have got to hit the Glazers where they will feel it and that has not been done until now. There is no need for violance. Simply do what the "Just stop oil" protestors do. Sit and prevent team buses and players from getting into Old Trafford on match days. Block the entrances. Prawn sandwich eating fans can go into the stadium but if there are no players to play in the stadium, it is pretty pointless. Once matches at OTD get cancelled, UTD share prices will get hit very quickly and that will dent Glazers. Sure Utd will get points deducted but sometimes ripping off the bandaid hurts.

I'd theorise that the Glazers have done what they did to short the shares and bet against them, why else market the club for sale only to pull the rug knowing fine well the share will plummet. I bet if they were investigated you'd find they've made a considerable amount of money but they'll be clever enough to try and disassociate their name from all actions.
