You’re right Celtic definitely need to change the way in Europe, I like that we are still willing to have a go but need to be more educated and willing to sit in when required. the problem is everyone says celtic and rangers ae big clubs. they are but only in scotland. when against euros elite they are ST johnstone. trusty was signed for 6 million and everyone was going on if he was world class. the fact is 6 million is efl league 1 level. brimingham spent £20 million on one player. spending over 10 million is chicken feed compared to serious CL sides. what rodgers doesnt do is set the team up correctly. 5 in midfield, 2 def mids in front of the back 4 and one target man up front. may not be attractive or the celtic way but lennon did it in rome and beat lazio. you frustrate, stay compact and try to take chances from set pieces etc. you get found out trying to play teams like dortmund as if its kilmarnock. teams like copenhagen and other small teams do it but sadly rodgers wont change and i see atalanta and villa possibly leipzig handing out a beating

Prior to the start of the campaign, Celtic's opening two fixtures were Slovan Bratislava (H) & Dortmund (A) Most sane people would've predicted one win and one defeat from those two games. The manner of the opening game victory (5-1 going on 10-1) raised expectations going in to the Dortmund game and well.... we know what happened. There is no doubt that 7-1 is an embarrassing scoreline for any club at any level of football BUT when all is said and done, Celtic are on EXACTLY the number of points, after two games, that most people would've predicted us to be on. We've six more games to play. Atalanta & Aston Villa (both away) could be very sobering experiences but we've also got Club Brugge, Young Boys (both at home) and Dinamo Zagreb away which are all games we can get something from. Leipzig at home is a big ask but it's at home under the lights..... and you never know. So when all is said and done at the end of this campaign, Celtic could very well be sitting on 10-12pts and comfortably through to the next phase, despite a few heavy defeats along the way.

All this nonsense about budgets yet gap between Dortmund and Celtic is small compared to St.Johnstone and Celtic which is huge gap finacially and quality wise. The Scottish league is not just held back by lack of money, the clubs hold it back by refusing the changes that will bring more money in and also decelop their own talent every year. Celtic like their little thrown in that little pond of league and will never help to improve the league because they like their little holllow throne. The potential is there for big steps forward but the clubs refuse to sort it out.

Their transfer spending is offset by sales like Casemiro. And it was PSG who paid 220m for Neymar, leaving the "market" broken, with average players then becoming a minimum of 10m.
