Jarrod keeps thinking about value in terms of batting and bowling performance only. IPL franchises seriously value captaincy option and are often willing to double up the original value. Cummins is a great example from last year. The value goes up even higher if it’s an Indian player with international experience because they also offer a popular face to the franchise, aka, brand value. This year their prices went even higher because of a lack of supply mainly because Mumbai managed to retain at least 3 such options. So, we ended up with at least 4 franchises looking for captains with only three genuine Indian options and one foreign option. For some reason, KKR wasn’t that keen on Buttler or KL, so they went cheaply. If they went after KL, his price also would have crossed 20+. They quickly decided on Venky as a homegrown option but just did not anticipate that RCB would be so much after him just as a player. That’s largely because RCB had a big purse at that point, so they could stretch themselves. But it meant KKR had no option but to match it because for them he felt like the last option for a captain.

Mega Auction is bunch of crap. BCCI needs to take it away. Teams should be allowed to scout players and develop players . If they can do that ,teams will have more good domestic players by every season moving forward. There are lot of players that showed lot of promise has to move away from the franchise that scouted them, then they just vanished from the league because the new team didn't know how to handle them. That's not ideal for a developing league.

There should be a minimum age for kids like 16 years. This 13 yr kid maybe good but it falls under child labor laws. Even in US we have laws even for Pro games. You should be 17ys old to be playing at Pro level. I think BCCI should be sued and so is the Team and parents to allow this BS. For the snowflakes, this is not a proud moment.

That guy smashed fastest U 19 test hundred ever against Aus U 19. scored 40 centuries in a year across tournaments. Soccer pro-contracts start at 14/15 years. By the time IPL starts he will be 14 ,that's the min age criteria I guess, using internet savvy languages "snow-flakes" won't cut across the point when Pro contracts in football are given at 14/15 years of age. Child labour by that measure Olympics/chess/many other sports should be banned, IOA and FIDE sued. Its definition is really hazy, is the person self-motivated, that good or forced to play. 16/14/15 isn't the only metric. by that measure IOC (olympic) and FIDE (chess) , badminton governing council should be sued too. With Chess eg- Boddhana is 9 years of age in FIDE 45th olympiad representing England, or you do not consider Mental effort, concentration at chess as difficult , it is one of the toughest sports out there 11 rounds of chess each round on avg goes on for 4-5 hrs at olympiads. England board governing chess should be sued too. Or some "snowflake" boards are holier than other "snowflake" boards. Be fair in your criticism. No, we can't allow bidding to continue once RTM is done. There should only be 1 bid. Current system allows RTM holding team to buy player at desired price if they want to. It's fair to them because they are the one who picked that player when he was young and experienceless. If new team wants that player badly then be ready to overpay!
