@Talk To Me in Korean I want to learn korean because for me is the most beautiful language in the world. I can't explain the irrationality of it, but when I listen korean it makes me happy. I enjoy dramas, korean music ( no just kpop, I love the ballads, traditional music and even trot music) and tv shows. Is not just a want for me, it feels like a need almost. I want to enjoy things that I can't right now, like Korean literature. I just love Korean.

I've been married to a Korean for 25 years having met her while stationed in Korea in the Army. I spent a year in Korea in 1994 and a year in 1998. We are going to visit Korea next month for the first time since we left in 1999. I know Hangul a little but don't understand what the words mean. I want to learn more phrases and sentences, at this point since I am already 61 years old and my wife speaks English well.

Honestly, I had a girlfriend who was Korean and spoke English very well. We would still hit the occasional language barriers, but she was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She had to move back and unfortunately we couldn't continue our relationship. While we were dating she told me stories and showed me pictures of South Korea and everything about the country seems incredible. I am only just starting to learn the language and we will probably never see each other again, but I know that one day when I visit Korea I want to be able to show the same love and respect she showed me. Chile... Korean people are not always polite 💀 there’s a lot of racism (mainly towards black people) and sexism in Korea. A study literally showed that 8 out of 10 males admitted to abusing their partners like 🏃 💨 oh hell nah, but don’t get me wrong I think Korean is a very cool language and they have a beautiful culture too.

Around my house there is a store and there is a grandmother and grandfather who always try to Talk to me in English, I found out they are Korean , they are very caring towards me so I will love to return their generosity by being able to talk to them and put as much effort as they are doing to talk to me in English, the grandma told me that she will love to introduced me to her grandchildren which is such a great gesture given that I am Latina and we are taught from a very young age the importance of family and friends. Her grandchildren will come to study and she asked me to be friends with them and showed them the city, so given that I love their grandfathers I want to show them the city and helped them to get used to the new place, I was told that they also speak just a bit of English... that's why I want to learn Korean.

The reason why I wanna learn Korean: [long story] So in 3rd grade, the last few weeks of school there was this Korean-Learning program and my mom decided to put me in it. The teacher there was so sweet and nice to me. At the last day of school, I decided to go up to her and asked her to write in my Year book :) She wrote it in korean and told me to read it once I learn korean. It's been about 6 years and I just now remembered it. I luckily still have my Yearbook she wrote in! I'm gonna start to learn it. :D

I wanna visit Korea and possibly move there when I’m older! It’s hard but I’ve so far learnt a bit about Hangul (Korean alphabet) and how like the structure with consonants and vowels work.. I guess that’s how u put it 😂 do you have any tips on memorising stuff? My memory is my weak point with learning Korean.

Korean sounds very pleasing to the ear. I sounds like a very continuous language, like there are no stops in between. It has similar intonations to my mother tongue, Tamizh. So it makes the language significantly easier to learn.

I am not kpop fan at all, I am not kdramas fan. The reason I am learning korean is: I have loved a person who was korean, she has a beautiful smile and before she left my life I promised I would go to Korea, meet her, and learn korean. I have no other reason and its not necessary other reason, I am focused and determined, no matter what I will make it.

I really like this one Korean girl at my university. She is my motivation to start learning Hangul, and I believe that this would help me communicate better with her. She went back to South Korea on the 11th of November to enjoy her semester break and would be coming back by the next semester next year, so I am planning to at least be able to smoothly read Hangul sentences by the time she’s back, and maybe speak a little Hangul as well. I’ve currently passed the stage of memorising the basic vowels and consonants, as well as the consonant-vowel-consonant word structure and their pronunciations, now moving on to more advanced word structures like double consonants and the pronunciation changes for the 받침.

It's easier to learn English than any Asian or African language .. German is easy , French is easy but Korean, mandarin , Cantonese , Japanese , Malaysian, difficult ... Malaysian easiest of Asian languages and Urdu is not so difficult.. Korean and mandarin is freaking difficult .. or maybe it's the way it's written ..

It feels so random that yes, Korean is my fifth language. Which also feels surreal. I started during the pandemic and things are still slow. Working full time and learning a language is hard, I am so impressed with anyone who even tries! Keep fighting guys and do your best to make it fun!

I want to learn korean because I find the language very “logical” and poetic. The way the language expresses feelings, feels very accurate to the actual feeling itself when in other language (like mine, french) it feels like words for things don’t often make sens. For example I love the expression “내 마음이 들어요” it is absolutely the image of the feeling, when you say it. Because when something “enters you heart” makes you like it. it’s like the summary of the cognitive process of liking. I just really like the language itself !!
