Tom and Kristin seem sooo much like the characters they played, mellow, down to earth, humble. TBH thats Why i really cherished Tom portrayal of Clark. And what can i say, I mean young kristin was such a hard worker just like lana, doing 2 successful shows and all this without a car, I mean her dad drove her to work, the maturity and work ethic is soo much like lana. No freakin wonder they were fantastic on screen in bringing these characters to life. With M. Rosenbaum, he's a jokester and soo full of life with his wit and comedic banter, the fact that he played a serious and layered character like lex is a testament to his gr8 acting skills. Tom/Clark - Showed me how to stay strong, push forward and always be there for family and friends. Michael/Lex - Showed me how to stay informed, be calm and ALWAYS believe in yourself or no one else will. Kristin/Lana - Showed me how to persevere through tough circumstances and it's okay to share emotions with others, that's the human experience! I grew up in a little town like Smallville in many ways. Usually, a boy showing emotion was looked down on. I'm happy times are changing. Thank you for this wonderful podcast!! We didn't have cable but we had the first 5 seasons on DVD and were able to rent the other seasons from the library over time. So many times I woke up to the title music in the menu playing over and over... "Somebody SAAAAAVE me!" It haunted my dreams. But in all seriousness, watching this show with my dad is one of my favorite memories, and its something we can still talk about 15 years later. Kristin is younger than them, to be fair. She's still 39, while Tom is 45 and Michael is 50. But yeah, she has held up very well. Sometimes, she has a streak of grey hair I like. I think she's arguably more attractive now.

WOW! Just stumbled on this today. I recently started re-watching the series on HULU and enjoying as much today as watching it for the first time 20+ years ago (especially commercial free!!!). Such a great cast and portrayed amazingly. I always wanted Lana to end up as Clark's life love interest when watching Smallville just because of the chemistry. In any case I am REALLY taken back by the music of Smallville... just awesome music!!!

Thank you so much for these podcasts. I didn't get turned on to Smallville until the 4th season was out on DVD, and then there was no turning back. I binged all four seasons within, like, 6 weeks and was dying each year afterwards waiting for the next box set to come out. I am still of the firm belief that a movie is still possible with everyone coming back. Hopes and dreams I suppose, but still very hopeful.

This was the first episode of Smallville I ever saw. I live in the UK and, despite being a big Superman fan, had never heard of the show. I found it completely by accident while channel surfing at age 15. It took a minute for me to even realise I was watching a show about a young Clark Kent, but I was instantly hooked. Prior to this, I'd only ever really watched TV with my parents. This was the first show that I took time out for myself to watch and enjoy on my own, later collecting the DVD's etc, and continued to love the show throughout its 10 year run, re-watching older seasons in preparation for newer seasons multiple times.

I never noticed these things, I was so in love with the show and Clark that I just enjoyed the show no matter what. To me Smallville was a head of its time with special effects and a cast that appealed to anyone. We all found our favorites ❤️.

Love the interesting notes that Michael read off this week! Great addition! Most importantly it was wonderful surprise having Kristin as a guest! Though I wasn't the biggest fan of the character of Lana, Kristin seems like suuuuuuch a sweetheart and genuine person, it honestly makes me like Lana more. Sucks to know she had a stalker, but interesting to hear her overcoming shyness and fame. Also a highlight was her talking about how Tom couldn't remember his lines by putting it on a card. That was a great memory! Can't wait to see her again in the future again she is super sweet. As for a final rating 🌹(1.5 Roses)
