Can you please make a video on how to use the centurion's perfect pass. I have a 06 avalanche c4 and can't seem to figure it out

Bought a 2005 Avy and have been struggling to get the weighting and wake dialed. Regular foot no prob. Goofy which I am has been a challenge. Going out tomorrow to test your method. Thx this has definitely been the best video I have seen for pre wakesysten boats

Recently picked up a second shaper for my direct drive, that alone pushed the wave back probably 4-5 feet.

It's amazing how much longer the wave gets with that second sick gate! I tried riding with only one again after a few weeks of using both and it just wasn't as good. With one there was less push, and less height, and shorter.

Great video, you really take the time to explain things so everyone can get it. I have a sorta budget boat. 08 Centurion Enzo SV230. I added 1600 lbs of fat sacs to the back, got rid of the 2 200 lbs hard tanks, and the wave got huge! I think I will back off on the bow fat sac, 450lbs and try my wave with the boat riding a little steeper in the front. Here is a vid of the boat with 1600 in the back 1000 mid ship and the bow sac full. Shoot can add a vid.

These boats love to be slammed in the rear. Make sure you run the 2 suck gates on the side as well, or get the waveform maverick system. It makes a huge difference

Great video. You’re making me rethink my search for a 80k boat. Maybe I should be looking for a well cared for 30-40k boat that fits much more nicely in the budget instead of stretching it to the max. 🤔

Unless the 80k boat gets you into fast fill ballast and automatic surf system then there is no reason to spend that much

So much excellent info! I was in the Coast Guard also a former yacht captain. I want to build a 35-37 cabin cruiser that I will modify to surf. Any ideas, tips or tricks? Thx,

Biggest issue you will have is the drive system. If it's not a direct drive or vdrive you'll need to build a massive rear swim platform to keep surfers far away from your prop

So do you fill both bags completely in the back or do you fill surf side bag more then non surf side
@GearsAndTech
@GearsAndTech Ай бұрын
My surf side is 900 lbs. Non surf side is 750 So naturally both bags full will list to surf side But yes, list slightly to surf side always

Thanks for the great video. I have a very similar boat. 2003 ski centurion, V drive. I did what you suggested with the ballast (1500#) and a shaper. Great wake! I noticed my hole shot is now very sluggish. You talk about a different prop, which I now need. Do you have a size and pitch that you recommend for a prop? Thank you

I have a 2017 S202 Supreme. It's a little light. I have the trim tabs on left and right, would you still recommend the suction wake shapers still? Thank you. The video was awesome.

Hey Patrick, welcome to the channel I actually have heard of guys adding the front middle suck gate even when they have the rear surf tabs. If you're comfortable making one like I showed then it's worth a shot The biggest thing is to follow the advice for weight. As much in the back as you can get and don't fill any bow weight unless you can't get to surf speeds. Then add now weight, or better prop I surfed with the middle sick gate for 3 weeks. Then I tried with just one again. The difference in push is night and day! The middle gate makes a huge difference!

Cool bro. Did you talk about how long the wave was and how you measured it? Looked like from the thumbnail you did so
@GearsAndTech
@GearsAndTech 3 жыл бұрын
Wave effective length was roughly 25 feet from back of boat How I arrived at that number is a bit crude. When I had the profile shot of the boat and wave I know the boat is 21' long. I had a full boat length plus a little bit that was surfable on the wave. Which worked out to about 25 feet If I wanted to sacrifice some height I could have gone faster to get it even longer. But at 25 feet it's a really fun wave!

Thank you for making such a detailed video. I have a question. Do you think a fishing boat (deep V hull) with direct drive engine (located in the center) of about 25 feet / 5.000 lb would be able to produce a rideable wave after weighting it and installing a suckgate surf system? The boat has already regular flaps (1 on each side). I'm looking for an hybrid boat that can also sail in the ocean (in safe way) and still can do wakesurf. Thanks for your time :)

Yes. The bigger and heavier the boat the bigger the wave.

I live close to a big semi artificial lake that is knee to waist deep for about a quarter mile and then it has a deep section for boats. Ive always wondered if it would be possible to create regular waves that just break in the low section. That way you could paddle in on a regular longboard and really teach people how to surf. Do you think this could be done? And if so, what would you recommend? Thanks!
@GearsAndTech
@GearsAndTech Жыл бұрын
Yes it's possible but a boat is not the solution to that problem You need a wave maker. Many options exist. The best for your scenario is likely the train tracks with giant snow blade being pulled towards shore repeatedly

@@GearsAndTechYou think it would be possible to mount it to a boat? Perhaps build up some speed and drop it in the water?

yeah you dont need 2000 pounds of ballast lol we have a great wake off a 2011 Moomba Outback with just a shaper and about 900 pounds of ballast

Trust me, if you think it’s great at 900 wait till you see it at 2k. To give you a tease, invite all your body positive friends and have them sit on surf side with all your ballasts full but because careful when you slow down, might take one over the front or back. My malibu was ok with factory ballast. Then i put 1100lb bags in each locker and another 500lb bag in surf side and then another 500lbs of people plus my wedge down. And it made my previous wave look like chump change

I really appreciate you detail in your videos. We have a 2019 nxt21 and we have been getting an inconsistent wave on right side. Sometimes the wave has no push and cant let go. My board is a hyperlight Broadcast. I weigh 180. Do you have any tips on weighting it. The best day was with 4 peeps on board sitting in the main area and one toward the back on my right side surf at about 10.8 speed. the challenge has been with 2 on board. I wish you great wealth and happiness all the best neal sw fla

If you follow the advice in this video you should be good Basically all weight in back with a 60/40 split between left and right 60% of total weight should be on surf side. The more people on board the wave just gets better If you can't maintain speed then you put a better prop on, or move weight up front.
