How to Buy a Ticket
QR-ticket (1 hour 1,50 €). Purchase online at tallinn.pilet.ee or with the mobile app Pilet.ee. Purchase up to 10 rides onto your QR-ticket. Share them with your friends and family. First, validate your ride, then choose the number of extra rides to be purchased using the arrows, then press OK and swipe your QR-ticket again. Use the front door validator with the QR-scanner.
E-ticket 1-hour tickets are available for money, loaded onto your Smartcard; you have to validate your ticket in public transport vehicles by swiping it at the validator.
1-hour ticket can be bought with Smartcard, with a contactless bank card or download app Pilet.ee and buy a ticket by phone. If you want to use a bankcard then you must use public transport front door. As you board a public transport vehicle, you will be required to validate your trip every time by swiping the card to the validator. If you see a green light, your trip has been validated.
Passengers that are not residents of Tallinn entitled the right to discounted travel
(university students, pensioners, passengers aged 16 and over with severe or profound disabilities, and passengers who are parents of 3 or more children)
How to purchase a ticket with a contactless bank card. You can use all Mastercard, Maestro, Visa, and Visa Electron bank cards with contactless interfaces in public transport. You can check whether the card has a contactless interface by looking for the relevant logo on the card.
These groups do not need to use the "green card" :Children with disabilities, Severely disabled persons aged 19 and older, Persons with severe visual impairment, Repressed by the Soviet Regime, Participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident, Seniors aged 65 and older. They will scan your card. Also, you can show that the money was debited from your account (do not think that that will be necessary though)

Can't you pay by credit card? Do you only need a debit card? Also, is it only possible to buy a ticket for 1 hour with QR? I wanted to buy a 24 hour ticket, it asks for a card number. Thanks

You can buy one-hour tickets with all Mastercard, Maestro, Visa and Visa Electron bank cards with contactless payment interfaces and using Apple Pay Express. Does transport cost the same everywhere in the city or it depends on the area , distance , day/night , station , etc ? Do the citizens speak Russian and how they think about Russian speaking people ? You can buy tickets through the internet and get them with a QR code or pay with your bank card too (so you don't need this green card although it is an option) here are the prices One-hour ticket (60 min): 1.50€ One-day ticket (24h): 4.50€ Three-day ticket (72h): 7.50€ Five-day ticket (120h): 9€ 30-day ticket: 30€ Tallinn Card (includes free entries to museums and sights) (24h/48h/72h): 16€ - 64€ Most of the Estonians and people living here are not hostile towards Russian speaking population.

There is no limit and you can use it as much as you want during that 1 day period which starts from the first validation (when you first enter and swipe the card)
