Another great video, thanks mate!! I remember watching ur channel for the first time, months ago, and thinking "who is this crazy guy saying to use cow fat as a moisturizer?!" - now Ive been using tallow and my skin has never felt more moisturized and clean. The only downside is the smell haha, but its actually grown on me. Ive even started making a moisturizer for my vegetarian girlfriend and she loves it! I just add lavender oil to mask the smell and no one can tell 😂
@SkinCoachTanel
@SkinCoachTanel 9 ай бұрын
😂 It seems crazy at first but then makes complete sense after you do it for a while, great to read you're doing well with it! To minimize the smell, you can melt it down a couple of times, each time it cools down scrape off the sediments that form the bottom layer and pour throgh mesh. Make sure your skin doesn't react to essential oils, it's a tricky ingredient but sure does smell good Maybe your girlfriend would like the whipped version of tallow, just whip it up with a hand mixer when it's cooled down and starting to solidify on room temperature

@@SkinCoachTanelI used too much retinol and around my eyes. Now my eyes have been swollen for about two weeks. I have stopped using it. I’m only using Vaseline. Will tallow help with the swelling and the under eye bags that have formed. What do I do??

@@Fiestyexoticals Yeah that's one of the reasons I don't teach the use of retinol. A natural similar option would be to use raw liver or egg yolks as a "retinol" mask (vit A). Sure, tallow can help while you are recovering from the drying damage of retinol products

Came across your channel and what you said as an introduction really hit home! My granny used to make tallow soaps at home :) Started using it. Thank you ❤❤ Also, if you could do a programme on how to make SOAP from TALLOW. Something easy not involving acids etc. my granny use to use it to wash her hair (tallow soap) and she had lovely knee length hair when she passed on at 90+ !!! Thank you, love from Pakistan 🇵🇰 ❤

For the first time ever I just made some tallow, jojoba and frankincense whipped face/body cream. I’m so excited to see what this does! Quarter cup tallow, 1/8th cup jojoba oil and 15 drops of high quality frankincense EO because I already love it and so I know it is good on my face etc. Have put it on my feet and face and my skin feels amazing. Also putting it on my stretch marks to see what happens there. 5 babies, lots of stretch marks 🤣 then I found your video. It was super easy to make this I wish I had known years ago when my first baby had such awful eczema! But we know now!

Have heard when using mutton fat for making hair pomade which was apparently a common thing to do, soak the fat in water for 10 days - then chuck the water out then repeat that twice and it gets rid of the smell of mutton. Perhaps this would help remove smell of beef from tallow? I don’t mind tte smell of either - my dad is a sheep and cow farmer - but I know lots of people don’t like the smell.

@@OttKaselaan @Juhannoode mõni asi millega arvestada Liivimaa Rohumaaveise rasva asjus: - See on üldine rasva segu ehk mitte spetsiifiliselt see sama "suet" organite ümbert.

@@umbra_1986 In the video I explained to only use it only after showers. So when you wash your rash (even if not a full shower), then pat it dry and put tallow on. This way you avoid all sorts of debris, dust, dirt that can cause itchiness. After washing the skin is also more receptive to the tallow, you can feel it getting absorbed better

What are your thoughts on people whose eczema is triggered by grass pollen? Is there a risk that ruminant meat and tallow could trigger an allergic response since they eat grass? I'm a lifelong eczema sufferer, raised without ever eating red meat. I'm absolutely game to start if it means healing, but the few times I've tried I've had a bad reaction. Trying to figure out whether it's just an adjustment period or the grass pollen issue. Thanks!
@SkinCoachTanel
@SkinCoachTanel 4 ай бұрын
Interesting question, I haven't seen this being a reaction since the grass food gets digested by the ruminant's multiple stomachs, it shouldn't be a problem at all I have, however, read many studies about raw goat milk intake helping against all sorts of allergies, I'd sip on some of that! Very healing rnz.izoo.krakow.pl/files/RNZ_2023_50_1_art01_en.pdf www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10563692/ www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7040033/ A good gentle way to start eating quality beef is to make a broth/soup out of it by using bone broth (can be store bought) and boiling minced beef in there. When introducing new foods it's important to keep the portions smaller and track the progress using the daily diary and biomarkers :)

@@SkinCoachTanel thanks, I'm finding your content really helpful. Is it possible to get raw got milk legally in the states?
@SkinCoachTanel
@SkinCoachTanel 4 ай бұрын
@@austintannenbaum2717 It might depend on the state, maybe try getrawmilk.com/ In California, raw milk is widely available in grocery stores (same here in Estonia by the way, both goat and cow, very easy to find). Kentucky requires a doctor's note for raw goat milk sales. In England, Netherlands and many places across Europe, raw milk is dispensed through vending machines (bring your own refillable container), so it really depends where you are at

Would using beef tallow in its liquid (pre refrigerated) form work as well?
@SkinCoachTanel
@SkinCoachTanel 4 ай бұрын
Tallow is solid/creamy in room temperature. It's liquid when heated. Becomes more solid in the fridge depending on what fat was used to render it (suet becomes very waxy & tough). Sure you can use the unrefridgerated tallow or even raw fat, the fridge is just good for keeping it stable for a long time so it wouldn't oxidize

Opinions on using pigs lard?
@SkinCoachTanel
@SkinCoachTanel 8 ай бұрын
I know one guy who prefers lard to tallow, but it's not a common preference. Tallow is just superior, you can try both and see for yourself Besides the feeling/texture/effect, it's also a matter of quality and what the fat contains - you see, fat can accumulate toxins, pharmaceuticals and omega 6s etc. from the intensive farming practises, medications and the soy+corn+grain feed that pigs and grainfed beef get Tallow comes from ruminant animals (beef, sheep, goat, deer...), these animal species eat primarily grass, so it's a matter of finding grassfed not grainfed animals from good farmers (even better when they are unmedicated) Lard on the other hand comes from pigs that eat virtually anything, which is why intensive farmers feed them all sorts of junk So it's easier to find high quality grassfed ruminants/beef/tallow compared to finding high quality pig/pork/lard
@capraglass
@capraglass 7 ай бұрын
I have been using lard but am aware of the potential accumulated toxins in it so will switch to tallow. So far I’ve been blitzing it while soft with the hand blender with some raw apple cider vinegar and essential oils for fragrance; it sounds odd but the ACV does emulsify it and becomes this light fluffy mousse. It does absolutely moisturise and plump the skin, brilliant also for rough areas and cuticles etc. tried it on hair too, as expected. But as above will order some grass fed tallow next I also used lamb tallow in the past, similar effect, however highly pungent : )
@SkinCoachTanel
@SkinCoachTanel 7 ай бұрын
@@capraglass That's an interesting idea to add ACV to it, that can also help to rebalance the pH on the surface of the skin, a lot of people with skin disorders have alkaline skin (from soaps and other washing liquids), this would reacidify the microbiome there
@capraglass
@capraglass 7 ай бұрын
@@SkinCoachTanel Hi I appreciate your prompt reply. Yes I have been using ACV for face for many years, will use all my life probably. I initially thought of putting it in the jar of lard mousse as an easy way to incorporate ACV in my body skin care also, otherwise difficult to use all over. Turned out to really work, best of both worlds. Very best wishes! PS: while on natural animal based care, I also passionately recommend sheep lanolin, in case you’re not using already. It’s a brilliant emolient, a perfect substitute for vaseline in all cosmetic uses - plus probably much more compatible with the skin. I use it at night around eyes and as a lip balm.

@SkinCoachTanel i love tallow for soft skin and glow but it does very little for my under eye area. Same w jojoba oil. I notice i still need regular creams to keep the area properly hydrated. Although castor oil and marula oil seems to be helpful but not as much as some conventional products and it annoys me i can't find a natural ingredient that truly works on under eye lines. I'm not saying erasing but I notice the oils make it almost seem worse after a couple of day's use.

If I use retinol serum at night, then I have to use a sunscreen that is SPF 50 when going out. Can you please tell us if tallow is SPF 50 ? Or do I have to use sunscreen on top of it when going out in the sun?
@SkinCoachTanel
@SkinCoachTanel 7 ай бұрын
Tallow does not have an SPF of 50, no, it's much lower than that My approach does not teach the usage of any synthetic sunscreen or retinol serums - I prefer a natural approach to skin health that focuses on the importance of getting healthy natural sunlight and acknowledges the risks of using synthetic sunscreens made of carcinogenic chemicals, Of course you are free to decide what is best for yourself, but I do not teach the usage of retinol serums or suncreens as they come with risks and are not needed at all for healthy skin or skin healing as you can see in my client results photos: instagram.com/skincoachtanel/
