TalStar Pro is a 7.9% Bifenthrin suspended concentrate insecticide. This product is a synthetic pyrethroid that works by interfering with the insect’s nervous system. Talstar controls many different species of insects, but we typically recommend it primarily for indoor and outdoor use to control fleas, cockroaches, spider, mosquitoes, and even wood destroying insects like carpenter ants and termites.
Talstar Pro is typically used as an outdoor broadcast spray. But it can also be used as a barrier spray around structures, including around windows, around doors, along eaves, and any other entry points such as weep holes and where electrical and plumbing penetrate the wall. Talstar can even be used for termite treatments. It can also be used indoors as a crack, crevice, and baseboard spray.
Talstar Pro has a residual of thirty to ninety days. We typically recommend spraying quarterly for preventative control.
Talstar is not an instant kill - once the insect comes into contact with the chemical, it can take up to an hour for it to die. Depending on your target pest’s life cycle, you may need to reapply in 14-21 days.

This stuff is insane I sprayed a bunch of stink bugs with them they didn’t seem to care at first but the next day they were all dead and I filled up a shop vacuum

I'm ready to try DIY pest control but have a question regarding this product. It states that it kills insects attracted to ornamental plants. The entire back and one side of my home is lined with butterfly-attracting shrubbery. I get many different varieties of butterflies, dragonflies and the like which I would not want to kill . Is there a solution for this? Would just spraying the ground and wall behind the shrubs be safe for the butterflies?

Talstar is awesome stuff. It is always my first-line because it is cheat yet just plain works. That other product you mention is just cypermethrin... it’s a great second-line

Absolutely, I use a Stihl SR 450 at 1 oz per gallon. As always, check the label and your state may have restrictions on how high you can spray legally

I would not spray directly on the swing set but around the perimeter just make sure you keep pets and kids away until dry

I bought talstar a few years ago. Put about a cup of talstar for about 3 gallons and sprayed. Boy oh boy,went outside the next day,looked like Gettysburg,but for insects. Dead bugs EVERYWHERE!!!! Recently ran out,went to order more,and now it won’t be shipped to NY. What do I do now?!?!?!?!?

I ran into a similar problem several years ago when CA decided to prohibit the sale of reglazing products (for “renewing” old bathtubs). My solution was to order online, have it shipped to a friend/family member and then had them ship it to me.

Try eBay some sellers strictly say not for sale on ny but try ordering from other sellers some cancel your order but eventually you will find a small seller who does not care of the law

If your home has fire places, spray this product up around the flew and let it sit for a couple days before using the fire place. Chimneys and attics are a hotspot for stink bugs

Can Tasltar P be mixed with 0.5% Permethrin?

Mixing Talstar P with another pesticide like permethrin is not recommended because the two chemicals have similar modes of action. It would be like double-dosing! You will have a much better results with an adjuvant like an insect growth regulator.
