I was just thinking about new DW hike content from your channel and here it is!

I was just thinking that I haven’t seen a video of yours for a while, and I just randomly got on your page and there is a new video which I’m excited for.

I am constantly amazed that anyone could be excited to hear anything I might have to say. FASTEST comment EVER. I think it finished uploading just a little while ago and is still being processed (not ready for proper viewing). I was too lazy to get this one edited and uploaded until a recent hike to Lover's Leap - my annual break in hike. Now I'm getting excited for the hiking season.

I think it's always worth gerting out there! And sometimes we do wonder why we do it! Filming in the dark is always a challenge. Have you great day! Kaat

Great content! Lakes Tamarack, Ralston and Aloha are also relatively easy destinations for winter/early spring camping. Hope you have a fantastic 2023 backpacking season!

Fingers crossed - after those two consecutive years of fire smoke, I get a little anxious this time of year.

@@SacWildlife Hope you're doing good. It has been a very hot and humid summer so far - not ideal hiking weather. Hopefully, September will bring some cooler temperatures and better hiking conditions.

Hmm, still at 360p. I'll watch it in a bit when YT is done processing the video. I was hoping to see what the current conditions are, but it's still nice to see DW. I'm going to drive up the coast tomorrow to backpack in Olympic National Park. I was concerned with the snow cups, stream crossings, and weakening snow bridges in the Sierra.

Processing is really slow - it says another 18min at this point. Here's a snow update. I talked to a woman that hiked to Twin Lakes in late may. They had to park FAR from the parking area with 4WD (that's outside the Wrights Lake gate) and had to use snowshoes to get there - a really impressive hike. And just the other day - June 29th I talked to another woman that I met on Lover's Leap who had hiked from Echo Lake to Susie lake and had lots of trouble staying on trail. Had lots of trouble finding a dryish place to camp. What a season! No mosquitoes yet. I didn't see any on my Lover's Leap hike on the 29th. That will change soon and I assume it will be horrible all July. But there should be plenty of water.

Where do you park for an overnight hike

There's a gigantic parking lot - you can't miss it
