The backstory behind Jeremy's Storm is crazier given what happened at Desert Daze 2018. The stage was right on a lake in a beautiful desert valley. As the evening came and Tame began, a storm rolled in - huge streaks of lightning illuminating the black horizon, rain coming down. We were loving every second, but the organizers stopped the show 3 songs in. After, Kevin posted on IG that they were going to play Jeremy's storm that night for the first time in a long time. What are the odds? I guess Jeremy's Storm happened earlier than it was supposed to that night...

I know this is kinda cringe but: when I started listening to InnerSpeaker in high school I always had this feeling of pure bliss like Kevin said earlier and it always made me picture scenes that may or may not have happened and I just wanted to go to my own paradise that I dreamed for myself in the future. I had a lot of shit going on and that’s when the album sometimes had a despair sound, and this album in a way became synonymous with my life and that possibly I’m the way that I am today because of this album. Always wanted to have hair like Kevin too lol
@Michael-br5pr3 жыл бұрын
Whenever I had a bad day I would play it’s not meant to be and the beginning drums sounded like the harshness of life but the base was there to comfort me. When I got tired of other people and felt rejected I would put on Solitude is Bliss and listened to the lyrics and thought if the world outside didn’t like me I guess I could have my own world of euphoria on the inside and the outside wouldn’t matter anymore. This man truly has written a soundtrack that I come back to every once in a while where I can sit and feel nostalgia of my own past and remember those feelings and it truly feels like a part of me is attached to InnerSpeaker.

I remember when Ed Droste of grizzly bear tweeted out his love for Innerspeaker and Caribou’s Swim record. I immediately searched for both records and was blown away, especially by Innerspeaker. I swear to Gaia, I sent like 100s of people the link to that record on YT. So many of my friends ended up loving it that when Tame Impala came to Dallas in 2010, me and like 10 other friends all went to see them together. I still think Innerspeaker is their best record. And I’m not a huge fan of their newer stuff... but I’m extremely glad to see that Tame Impala and all of the aux bands from that scene are getting the recognition they deserve. It is kind of insane to see Kevin become so popular, while also thinking his finest work is habitually overlooked. But shit, if you like any of their stuff, that beats you not know or listening to them at all. So that’s far better than nothing.
@mellowtron2143 жыл бұрын
I took some mushrooms at that 2010 show, and the singer from Flaming Lips was in the crowd. I had a beer with Tames’ former drummer (now keyboard player) and there was a guy in the crowd far higher than even i, who was bleeding out of his head. When we asked what was wrong, he walked off and sat silently on the balcony outside. Good times
