This sound is still very much a part of who they are. Saw them at Pitchfork Festival 2018 and I was absolutely blown away with how seamlessly their songs from the Currents album blended in with the Innerspeaker songs like this one. I have full faith in Kevin Parker and Tame Impala to keep evolving their sound without disregarding their roots. It was a beautiful concert my dude, absolutely worth checking these cats out live - amazing.

Traces of early Pink Floyd for sure.. when Floyd were in the psychedelic phase with sid... remember "point me to the sky"? that always comes to mind... Every one can see now, till this day Pink Floyd's sound echoes in todays bands.. and this is a great example

for Sun's Coming Up (the little diddy at the beginning) Kevin uses a Stereo Pulsar from Electro Harmonix... and contrary to others who use it, he actually used the Stereo part of the pedal!

I just found out about these guys the other day. I listened to a couple of their records on the way to a gig I was playing on the other side of our island last night and... wow! One of those bands that instantly bumps another band out of your top 10. Fucking love these guys! It's like Pink Floyd and the Beatles had a baby and put mushrooms in its bottle :)
