Looks great! Thanks for showing us both your failures and successes with that weld bead technique. I too have considered it, but I've been too frightened to try it. (And I remain too frightened.) Ralph

Thanks for the comment! I'm glad. If you try everything, you might see things you couldn't see. Have a great weekend!
Excellent stuff as usual. One thing I noticed, the gun shield appears to be upside-down.

Thank you! I'm glad you commented. Gun shield upside down? Seriously! I hadn't noticed that... lol

with the welds you have to let it sit in the groove for a few minutes so it will stick to the plastic

Thank you! I'll give it a try next time. Thanks for letting me know.

You should use metal wire for the tow cable. Do not tear apart paper: cut it strait with blade or scissor. Great work anyway!

I use .015 solder wire. It's cheap, very malleable and in scale for 1/35. Order spools on Amazon... It is a much better solution than string.

I found the exact same to happen with tamiya putty useless haha but then it's old stuff I used the newer stuff was better but the green stuff putty was just fantastic worked perfectly first time no faffing around lol 😂

Thanks for the comment. I see!!! Is it hard to use the old one? I didn't know that. I'd like to try the green putty.

I know this is six months old, but if you haven’t gone back to working with it yet, you just need to dampen it with water, from a small paintbrush

Wery nice cast texture! If you want longer working time with the putty you can use Tamiya lacquer thinner with retarder or the mr leveling thinner. I guess you already know this, I dont like using cement for thinning putty because I think it dries too fast.

Thank you! You're right, I thought the putty was drying too fast! LOL I guess you're right. I'll give it another try when I get a chance.

The welds around the actual machine gun mount are extremely messy and consist of several beads of "pigeon shit" weld, on the vehicle loaned to Bovington at least.
