Beautiful job !! I'm currently rebuilding an original Blackfoot . I purchased the truck for $20 back in the early 90s and like a dummy I threw away the Ford body. The lexan body broke and now I am installing a super clod buster body for it. Cool after 20+ yrs on a shelf in the basement and it still ran .

Looks good, I might have to do a custom Blackfoot. I have two an original and a re-release my wife bought me for Christmas but they're both box art. The Blackfoot is near and dear to me as it was my first hobby grade RC.

Iv'e always been a fan of the red chassis on the monster beetle, probably because of the red body if painted box art but that black chassis and aluminium look is awesome, definitely a good choice and I think Brian Johnson would agree!

Yeah I see that now. The original Mad Van was brownish copper. I got my inspiration from the real Ford F-150 pickup truck pics online. Saw a good number of them in red and some with the white panels on the side. Thanks for the comment and support.

@@RCRetro I like the clean look, but if you got some MCI Black Foot decals with the colours tweaked to suit the new paint job, I think it would look amazing. Even though I have a Mad Van brushless on order, the proportions of the Black Foot are just better. More old school monster truck than almost anything else. Love the channel, it’s great to see someone that cares about all the details and still loves to drive all their trucks and buggies properly.

U need to just do the 400 grit! Then prime! To give ur prime something bond to! Then prime and sand with 600 and the will show u ur high and low spots! Then once u get it smooth and level. Spray another coat of primer! Let dry sand light with 600 making sure u don’t sand through the primer. Then paint with ur color! And then u can start ur cutting & buffing and that means wet sand with 2500 and 3000. And then buff it out and ur done

Bit of brake fluid in a tub .drop the bad part in for a few hours .then wash it of it’ll take the paint off to the plastic base .then prime again then paint your Colour .takes a bit longer if the paints been on a while .just make sure you wash off the brake fluid out of the nooks and cranny’s.you can use it to strip lexan bodies along with nitro fuel .

Spray Paint. Gloss white spray paint. If you are going to do that, make sure you get a spray paint that is primer and paint in one and take your time. Light coats. not to heavy or else you will get runs in the paint.

Do you still have the kyosho outrage buggy ? Done any upgrades or work on that ? It shares quite a bit of parts with the kyosho ultima buggy you got as well so could do some interesting upgrades too it for durability & handling. Think it could be a good buggy too race with if you upgrade wheels, tires & shock towers from an ultima, ultima pro, or ultima pro xl, maybe put in a motor with adjustable timing as well & turnbuckles front & rear so you can adjust camber & toe in or toe out in the front.

Just recently, I took off all the aluminum parts and switched back to plastic. Phil gave me some CRP parts for the front end that are a strong type of plastic. Those you can’t find anymore because they are vintage. The aluminum pieces are great aesthetically to look at but weren’t very functional and did not handle very well.

There are a lot of options today but the Parma Blackfoot body is super cool itself. I would say to paint it if you haven't already. I had one myself back in the day and wish I still had it.

But that’s y ur paint had a bad response is because u sand ur base to smooth and ur paint didn’t have anything to bond to! Because ur never supposed to sand with anything finer then a 400 grit paper. And it is more critical doing it The way I suggest because it’s a hard plastic. And also u can I eliminate a lot of steps and processes that you’re going through and really necessary. Believe me when I say I’m not trying to I am your man anything that you have done I’m just so at that with my own experiences being since I do have a background in painting RC and full-size. But if you will try it the way I yesterday you will see you will never have a problem with your pain lifting or flaking and you will get a more smooth or better paint quality.
