Your differential are not locked up all the way. Mine does not break loose near that much. I ended up getting some high mass military looking wheels and some Proline Grimes on mine. But yes you're right the steering is a problem mine did the same thing started out good and then went away as the servo saver went. Ended up putting a regular Servo horn on the back and will probably do the same with the front.
@RoadsideRC3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip on the servo horn. I wasn't sure what it was in the overall linkage that was giving me problems.

I have the Konghead which doesn't have the portals. I agree it's not a basher, not a crawler - but still a fun truck with 6x6. I plan on tearing mine down too to add some heavier grease to semi-lock the diff, and I just 3D printed some WT-01 arms to make it wider.

Very cool! I put some silicone earplugs in my diffs..and that still didn't lock them. I think they need to be fully locked.

@RoadsideRC3 жыл бұрын
My thoughts exactly! Add just a few more dollars, and you could get a fully RTR Redcat Gen8, or almost a TRX4 Sport. And for that price, you get 1980s plastic with bushings!
@JoeOvercoat3 жыл бұрын
The thing is the bushings are not cheap to manufacture. So unless you’re doing it to preclude corrosion….including galvanic corrosion perhaps….or some other failure mode.. then just put bearings in.

I wish more companies would bring out kits. I have more fun building them then using them haha. My first hobby grade rc was a TT01. I built a TRX4 chassis kit and a Stampede 4x4 kit and then a Buggyra Fat Fox TT01e recently and I am not going to be building any more Tamiya. Too much plastic and not including bearings is stupid in 2022. Going to be building a drift kit next just need to decide which one
@RoadsideRC2 жыл бұрын

@@RoadsideRC Thanks I have them added to my watch later. The choices locally are limited (I live in South Africa) so I may import one from Amazon or Amain. I can get the Sakura D5S limited edition red or blue carbon for a fair price here or the MST RMX 2.0 or the Y2Ds. I was leaning towards the Y2DS carbon chassis kit from Amain and shipping it here. Not sure about the gyro it comes with. Also need to decide on a motor and esc. I run Hobby Wing in all my rc's brushless for the most part with my TRX4 using the 1080 esc and a holmes hobby motor. Thinking the just stock 13.5t combo or is it worth going for a dedicated drift esc and motor? I willl use this to learn with and upgrade as I go
