Tamiya Honda CITY TURBO (Willys Wheeler) WR02C Double Build
Tamiya's Willys Wheeler was released in 1983. This Honda City Turbo is the re-release with the modern WR-02C chassis. I build two of them. I bought a new one and this one is done boxart (red one). I also had leftovers from a Tamiya Wild Willy chassis, so I bought all needed parts to convert it in another Tamiya Honda City Turbo WR02C build. For this one I went with a green theme by mixing original Tamiya decals with a green theme Willys Wheeler set of MCI Racing.

This was one of my first and favorite RC cars as a Kid many years ago! Very nice job on both of them!

Thanks Mike. Did you have the Wheelies Wheeler? I have good memories on some of these Tamiya models. I had the Super Champ and my brother had the Wild Willy M38 with also the Willys Wheeler body and wheels and so. He often rebuild it from the Wild Willy to the Whillys Wheeler and back. Owning the rere versions of those Tamiya cars we had when we were kids just always bring back great memories of us having so much fun with them.

@@cesco_rc Yes I had the original wheelies wheeler Honda City Hyper Turbo. It of course is not the best RC car but I loved the body and tires and I had a lot of fun with it! Good times indeed. Very cool to see again it's been many years since I had mine. Happy holidays!

This car is such a cool one by Tamiya. I've wanted one forever, but didn't pick it up before they raised the prices!!!

The green one is a second hand WR02 Wild Willy 2. That I upgraded to a WR02C Honda City Turbo. I just went through both manuals and ordered the parts to upgrade it. So that is also a option to get one under the price of a kit version.

Hey great video! I have a WW2 that I want to convert to a City Turbo also. Did you have to get a bunch of different parts, or is it pretty straight forward? Ive been keeping an eye out for a City manual. Thanks!

Hi Donovan. Best is to do what I did. Compare the WW2 and Honda City Turbo manuals. A lot is the same,difference are mostly wheels and tyres, body, bumpers and some small things.
