It's a BEAUTY mate! Why I love the supershot...here's my story When I was a kid the old lady next door named Clair on the bottom of her driveway it stopped and went down a steep hill into the woods with dirt rocks weeds branches you name it! All my friends used to come over we called it Clair's hill challenge, So they always came over with all different RC's and we all tried to get up the hill even my brother in law tried it he brought a big bear when I seen it I was like o no that's got to get up the hill and like all the other RC's before NOPE it did not go up! Then my brother in law came with a clod I was like man that things sick it got to make it up...nope it did not it flipped up and tumbled to easy! And as you can probably guess from your supershot video... my beloved low slung 4wd bad to the bone spike tires supershot was the only RC to ever make it up Clair's hill challenge!! and this is why it is one of my favorite RC's and is very special to me... I got the re release and painted it the same exact way as i did when I was a kid! check it out on my channel! it's bright green!

That’s a nice looking car. The Tamiya model that triggers my nostalgia is the Rough Rider (Buggy Champ), but an unassembled kit is just way too expensive. That was my first model, I got one when I was in the Navy in San Diego.

It is a beautiful buggy and agree, as it is it is just perfect, no tweaking needed! I think they did a good job on the new decals for this one and would leave it as is also! And don't worry about apologizing for trying to stay on budget, I mean you are talking to a ton of guys and gals here that all have to do the same things! I know I am always juggling and walking that fine line of too much and not enough when doing builds! Now that I am doing it for KZbin as well there is more pressure to do more things so that line gets even harder to walk!!! It looks amazing and thanks for sharing the build and the stories!

I managed to find one for sale late last year, and it’s going to be box art. With the kit GT tuned motor. And with the rere stickers. Like you, I’m not going to change a thing. And I never leave anything alone, but this one is different. They are special enough as it is. And everyone doing the repro stickers, will take away from it one day being considered an “original” rere, if there is such a thing. That’s m2cw anyway. Great build and video. Glenn, I agree... Most aggressive looking of the hot shot family and just a beauty... I have a vintage Super shot... With a mild restoration... It has some interesting Parts on it though. Someone put in mk1 Hot shot aluminum driveshafts front and rear and even put on the front bumper of the seam hot shot on it, so it has a really kicked up bumper... And even though I know the parts are wrong... Actually makes it look pretty cool... As always thank you for the video content you provide Glenn.

Now i really want the rere. We have a major vintage racing bash event at my local club here in Melbourne Australia in October, maybe i need to buy 2 kits - one as a shelf queen, another as a runner. Keep up the great work on the channel 👍

Absolutely spectacular and beautiful Glenn. I love it. I own 1 too mine is a rerelease but I missed out in the 1980's so I had to get a rerelease. Doesn't really matter to me though , I love the car and also I own a rerelease Hot Shot both cars are standard box art too and I don't have any problems going with box art. Also I reckon rerelease Tamiya may be better than a genuine vintage era kit that may be 40 odd years old.just look a modern ESC units compared to the mechanical 3 step forward speed controller from the 1980's vintage era kit.and battery technology is vastly improved over the old nicad battery packs from the 1980's also.i say good on Tamiya for bringing out the rerelease kits👌 anyway I'm a great fan of yours and enjoy all your videos keep it going 👍👍.

There are things that cannot be improved. The shape is outstanding and is emblematic of the design of all cars in the 80's. The silver, red and black color scheme is also perfect. I've seen a lot of hotshots, but boxart is perfect. Keep it up, there is hardly anyone who describes the subject of eighties RC cars better. By the way, my Super Hotshot is also nearing completion. Good looking buggy, the Super Hotshot. Is the ride height of the Super Hotshot/Supershot increased over the Hotshot? Unfortunately I can't compare them in person side by side. It's as if the Hotshot is lower sitting, perhaps due to the different shock arrangement? And how is ride height compared to the Hotshot II (non-Blockhead)?
