A lot of care is required with adjusting the ball diffs on the new super Avante! They are very sensitive to adjustment and should be adjusted by tightening a bit at a time and testing for slip, the screw doesn’t give hardly any feed back on how tight it is and can end up with it being much tighter than necessary! I fear this might create increased wear leading to premature failure, or stripping the threads if using the original plastic nuts… They work much better than previous generations silky smooth with zero slip. Thanks once again for your great content..!

Hello Glenn! Another enjoyable video. Looks a very high end kit! Do you think you will ever do a video on brushless motors and the meanings of motor turns? I have recently purchased a Tamiya TT02 after a 30 year break from my first bear Hawk in 1992. I never really had the money back then to explore tuning as a kid and now I do have a small understanding it would be good to hear someone like yourself explore basic motor upgrades. I also never had a electronic speed controller so this was a learning curve but I feel I’ve only scratched the surface. Love the videos as always, I’ll never own as many cars and buggies as yourself but feel the same excitement watching you go through the paces with each build sat on my sofa so keep it up and thanks.👍👍

There was a video on brushless motors, why you’d want one over a brushed system and what the terminology all means. I think the channel was Hearns Hobbies or something. The creators were based out of Australia but yeah, it answered the same questions you have about it that I did on the subject after I fit my TT-02 with one. EDIT: here’s a link to the video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJSam5tpjN19e5Y

@@TAMIYALegends nice 😊 The Sway bars definitely make it look nice 🤩 I must say I’m struggling to get a decent gear ratio with the slipper clutch 48P ratios. I’m Considering buying a smaller Associated Spur (they fit). The Kit just lacks top end in my opinion compared to say the same motor set up as a top force etc..

Hi Glenn , looking good, those diff nuts a make night and day difference, got the uj’s in front of mine now and no more popping driveshafts. The alloy servo stays do help but don’t entirely eliminate the problem of the servo flexing under power. Awesome as ever ;)

That was a very informative video Glenn 👍. I recently finished my TD4, but didn’t get the slipper until 2 days after. Now on to hunt down the diff nuts and universals, so I might as well change all at once. I have a Castle sidewinder 3 brushless combo in it, and it is awesome. But the esc is quite big, so no room for the driver.

Hi Glenn, thank you for the video. Can you advise if the universal steering hop up improves the range of the steering. I find the standard steering to be a bit restricted.

Would love your opinion on an advanced kit to build. In the past I have built sonic fighter, monster beetle, madcap and the nitro mercedes clk gtr. Am thinking avante, but what's the most in depth kit as I enjoy the build more so than the drive.

Nice Glenn, got the same bits for mine. You'll be hard pressed to find a brushless esc smaller than the brushed FX-R Pro. I'm stuck on the motor/esc combo myself with the TD4, I thought about the "Dynamite's all in one" unit but wasn't sure if the length would be a problem but they only have 2 wires coming off/out of them, the rx lead & on/off switch. Hey Glenn, nice review as always. When building up my slipper I sorted out that I could sub in a 72 tooth Associated spur and it fits perfect. I’ll be running a hot 13.5 in it and going to that smaller spur was the only way I could fit a 25 or 26 tooth pinion since the size of the brushless limits how much gear mesh adjustment there is.

The upgraded slipper clutch screw will work on the Egress ball diffs as well. You may need to trim a bit off the aluminum nuts spurs that stick out a bit to allow the bearing to slide over. Other than that it works

With the spur and pinion gears is it better do go lower in number on the spur and higher on the pinion, this will give better top end speed and when using with brushless set up you will still get good acceleration, will also be interesting to see any noticeable difference between the DB02 and TD4.

Ball diffs really shouldn't slip, you end up wrecking the balls, plates, it gets too hot & melts the gear.
