Nice classic Tamiya offroad! Congratulation for such nice model Matteo! I love this car. Nice video - Of course! ;-) I love especially the quick drive part - lovely jumpy leaf springs!!! :-) In the 2003 - before Tamiya release this Toyota Bruiser, I have had idea to make something, which could reminds the original Toyota Bruiser. In those days I had Juggernaut monster truck, So I decided to remake him into project "Bruisernaut" - very inspired of that Tamiya's classic off road model... BRUISERNAUT - Tamiya Juggernaut II based project 2003

Fantastic video. You can see the Mountain like a real truck. The shoots are very well done, the reference points too. A technical question. In next days I'm going to conclude the building of my Mountain Rider , practically equal to yours. The only difference is that I bought the Multifunction too... The question is: What time must I wait to change the batteries WITHOUT DAMAGE THE ENGINE after the charge is zero.. I mean All the equipment more multifunction must let down the running time. Thanks. your video is simply spectacular

Thanks for your compliments! It depends on your battery capacity, 3000mAh, or more? The engine will not damage, there is no problem.

I am 47 and am not a fan boy of any car, just like to get that out of the way, I had Tamiya cars years ago but I do think they have fallen behind in the game these days. I have a variety of different cars, upto the Losi5 , my last one being the Axial Yeti xl but I have to say of all of them I can't say enough about the Summit but have never seen it with camera work like yours, I know it's not as aesthetically pleasing as the scalers but by god it makes up for it EVERYWHERE else lol It's a shame you haven't got one, You'd never look back for driver enjoyment . The movement you would capture is fantastic, such is the performance of the suspension, Haha god I sound like a fan boy haha I have Thunder tiger mt4 Hong nor elec truggy Losi ten scte Hpi Apache Hpi bullet To name a few but for an all rounder it's the summit 😉

gatti493 You have many nice RC's! I know the Summit is a superb RC car, perhaps one of the best in the world. It must be big fun to bash it in the terrain. But as you wrote, I don't like the unrealistic look of this high performance RC's. And I can not do everything, so I decided to concentrate me on Tamiya, as my RC activities began 30 years ago. howlingmaddmurdock The Bruiser and the Mountainrider (Mountaineer) are 100% the same chassis. Only a few differences in the body. Compared with the Hilux high lift, I would chose a Bruiser/Mountainrider for sure! And many thanks for your compliments!

Thanks for your advice Matteo. I know where there is both a Mountain Rider and Bruiser new for sale still for a good price. Prices here in Canada have gone up quite a bit because the Canadian dollar is no longer equal to the American dollar. This dealer is selling them at the old prices still. I better grab one while I can! This is too many kits to explain to the wife now! Lol

Thank you for sharing another exellent video as always with us! Always a pleasure to watch your rc cars driven in the Alps, especially when I own one myself:)! I just bought a Montain Rider yesterday, and can I ask a question about the springs: Will the ride be softer if I assemble the leaf springs, which has 3 blades, withjust 1 or 2 instead? I am asking because I think the springs are a bit too hard, on the Mountain Riders I have seen, just a bit too bouncy, and I think the car jumps a bit too much over the terrain. Thank you again. Cheers.
@Matteomeier
@Matteomeier 9 жыл бұрын
+Nordmann61 Yes, you can try it with only two or one spring, It will be softer for sure.

Was habe ich vergessen ? Danke !

Danke!

@Matteomeier
@Matteomeier 10 жыл бұрын
Fabrizio Giannotti Thank you. It's not painted, it's real metal (chrome). I've gave the parts to a special company, they galvanize the plastic parts with chrome. It looks perfect but expensive as hell.

Hello Matteo have you seen the much cheaper Chinese knock off of this truck? It is called the HG-P407. Any chance you might do a review of this truck?
@Matteomeier
@Matteomeier 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Alfred, yes I've seen this chinese clon. And there are allready several reviews on KZbin. Overall I heard the quality is not bad, nearly same as the original. But in my opinion the Tamiya Bruiser and Mountain Rider are iconic legends from the past. It makes only sense to own an originalk, and not a replica. It's the same as real cars. For exsample a replica of an Ferrari GTO will never be the same as an original.

Hi Mateo, I agree. Tamiya does make some of the best Cars and Trucks. I do have the re-release Tamiya Bruiser and I also want to check out the fake Bruiser too. I think is sad that Tamiya has discontinued the Mountain Rider. @@Matteomeier

Another great video. Do you know if there's a way to convert the suspension to use coil shocks?
@Matteomeier
@Matteomeier 9 жыл бұрын
+Shawn Elliott Thanks, I don't know about a conversion. It would be mean a 4-link conversion. But I think the legendary Mountain Rider needs leaf springs...
@deusexaethera

***** In that case how much articulation do the leaf springs provide? Could this truck be used as a rock crawler, like an Axial SCX10?
