Another run with the fantastic Tamiya rally car chassis. The XV-01. This time sporting a Toyota Celica Twin Cam body.
This Celica is a replica of the 1980's Toyota rally entry which was RWD and had success in the Kenya Safari Rally

I know that the Tamiya Porsche 959 is many people's favourite rally car but I liked the square shaped Toyota Celica Group B version better. So for me, you made a great choice choosing this body style on a modern rally chassis.

yeah it’s one of my fave rally cars . and its a big shell . just be warned the decals dont come with the marlboro stripes hence why i ended up just painting thr rear red. im not that talented to do stripes😂

Those Fastrax rims are easy to break in my experience.! The tyres are great though.!! Cheap too, at around £7 a set.! 👍 👍 👍

they aren’t to bad . bit bigger than tamiya ones though . which can affect the body shell clearance. not had any break yet and the tyres are soft . like you say good for the price 😊👍thanks mate

Oh man, now we're talking!! Love it, love it, love it! 👌 I'm a big fan of the Celica GRB, those square lines and boxy body are sooo eighties! It's so cool to see the mighty XVO1 with something other than the Lancia Delta body on. What company manufacturers this one mate, guessing it's 1/10 scale? Great work on the paint job, White and red is the only option for this car, it's a must! As always full of admiration regarding the footage and editing, an absolute joy to watch fella! Makes me want to take my Celica GRB for a spin...... sadly the aged plastics are as brittle as thin glass now, so it has to stay firmly on the shelf. Great run matey! 👍 👍 👍

@@rc-dom-uk Ah cool man, yes, it certainly captured that Celica GRB vibe with the red and white! There's actually some lovely reproduction MCI Celica GRB decals on ebay currently for £15, but unfortunately they are 1/12 so too small!!! Are the L&L bodies a good reproduction Dom? 🤔 I bought their reproduction decals for my BMW 318 STW restoration this week...... I can't seem to find a new genuine Tamiya body for it anywhere, but I think L&L do a reproduction one. It may be worth me looking into it, if it is very close to the original Tamiya one! I get quite anal over my restorations of my vintage stuff..... things need to look just right! 😂 👍 👍 👍
