@@JamesTolson-jh6so It was actually two years ago that Winfield was being moved around the defense to create havoc. Last season he played mostly deep. Maybe the Bucs are going to try to bring Winfield up to create turnovers.

@@JamesTolson-jh6so I think out of necessity. With him sitting back there deep, he can't make as many plays Something has to change. If Edwards can handle the deep stuff, maybe Winfield can come up and make some turnovers or help shore up the middle of the pass defense.

Bucs have been in a lot of high scoring close games. Rotating at safety could prevent late game fatigue. Plus, Winfield Jr. is a solid pass rusher. In 3rd and long situations... put Edwards and Whitehead in the backfield, then blitz Winfield Jr. Obviously, they need 2 Linebackers. But it you can't get Linebackers, you gotta run more nickle and dime. The Bucs have too many injuries to run consistent nickle and dime packages. That's why there's so many communication break downs. The coverage packages look different every week depending on who's healthy.

Happy he’s back, but move feels like Licht saw a cheap opportunity to add depth and bring the band back together. Not sure we’ll see a ton of Edwards, but he’s versatile enough to help with injuries and knows the system Happy Birthday!

Agreed, how about Barrett? He'd play for the bucs for league min and a $100 home depot gift card, he wouldn't fix the D but would add some much needed experience and fire to it... Certainly couldn't hurt considering the Bucs overall D is ranked 31st in the league.... Just my $.02.

Winfield might be better. And not just better, but with the issues he's been having with contain and tackling, he might be better used at CB if he can still and Edwards plays well in relief. Izien constantly has to fill in on nickel when Tykee goes down too

Put Whitehead at MLB on obvious passing downs. Think about it. Then you have three safeties who can do multiple things. I am not a fan of D. White, but why not bring him back as a designated pass rusher too.

@ to be fair, he’s supposedly a cancer in the locker room. Yet, our defense was so much better even though he sucked at coverage. Whitehead/White rotation now that we have Edwards. You remember Urlacher. He played a hybrid role for UNM.
