This was a great tour you gave of the Pioneer Museum! When you were showing the irons I saw one like I first used in the 1960's. My parents were antique collectors and we had one of those old time irons you had to heat up on a stove. We used it as a doorstop. I enjoyed seeing the room with all the looms where the quilts were. I had a friend growing up who had a big loom in her home and her Mom made rugs and things. And, as for my fav fish restaurant it really is Red Lobster, but I would prefer Captain D's to Long John Silvers. My favorite that no longer exists is Arthur Treacher's. It was more authentic to what you might find in England. I love your backroad tours. Keep 'em coming!

Hello Tampa J, Im so touched by your video that you posted dedicated to your beloved Grandpa. You are not alone in your sorrow . Ive lost my Grandma Dec. 23 , Mom Dec 19 and Dad Jan 8. The holidays have since not been my most joyful season . As an only child, the most beautiful thing that i can cherish is my memories and know that i feel them around me at different times in my life . That brings me comfort . I want you to let yourself grieve the way you are and let love lead your life . Thank you for sharing something so delicate and personal with us . Much love in 2025❤

Love the Florida Pioneer Museum and walk-through. I love these roadside attractions. It’s a piece of history and your walk-through Allow us to see places that we might not ordinarily get to see ourselves. The Dunce cap and what you were saying ,in the classroom, was hysterical. However, what a horrible first day of school for your Grandpa. What a sign of the times back then. As a retired ESL school teacher, I felt very bad about your grandpa’s new school experience. Thank you for sharing your families personal story! This video had so much interesting history. Another informative and great video. Loved it 👍

We do have a Capt. and’s in Sanford 17-92, another in Clermont Hwy 50 and a third one on east Hwy 50 in Union Park. Funny story, this one open when I was in high school in the early 80s. It closed about 13 years ago and open less than two years ago in the same location. ONLY fast food I’ll eat it. I’m an avid fisherman and mostly my own catch but you can’t beat Captain D’s is Yum Yum good .

I don't know how Captain D's stays in business, I've never seen people in the parking lot. I guess it is different for different parts of the country but the one's around me are always empty. I assume the get a lot of business on Fridays during Lent and that is what keeps them open through the rest of the year.

I know it sounds stupid, but the actual name is Pioneer Florida Museum. The reason for that is because they do not want to give the impression that the state of Florida has any connection with museum as far as funding or operation.
@TampaJay6 сағат бұрын
putting florida first in my title just makes it more searchable on the internet and gives them more exposure. I totally get why they can’t do it. makes sense. doesn’t sound stupid to me.
