Please Check out links in the video description, Part 2 is uploaded: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fF7OiIGQaKlojbM Video Recap: TV board voltages was reading good so I assumed it was a heating issue when I saw the temp on ICs were over 200f ( most parts fail around that temp). I did lower the brightness/backlight which could help lower temp on the LED driver board along with thermal pads. I'm thinking about using a heatgun and raise backlight/brightness to see if I can recreate the issue on those ICs but don't want to damage that LED driver board which would cost me money. The error code is a general guide and states to check main board so I did and put thermal pads on some ICs that read over 120f but nothing to hot compared to LED driver board ICs. TV is still working so far but could go bad next week or next year or could last 10 years like my old Samsung TV repair, that TV was my first repair video on KZbin and still looks great today!. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kHy6qWhqnN2ajq8

Good job. A friend of mine had a TV that would shutdown after 30 to 60 minutes. I opened it up thinking capacitors starting to dry up. I found a darkening area on the PCB and it turned out to be a bad solder joint for a switching transformer pin. Fraction of a penny in solder required for that repair.

It is overheating for a reason. Something is drawing excessive current which explains why your voltages are sagging below the steady 24vdc that precision switchmode power supply produces. That also explains excessive heating of those driver mosfets (assuming that's what they were). Could be a bad solder joint, connector, leaky capacitors (high esr), shorted inductors, and so on. It's cool that heat sinking stabilized it, but seems like there is more to the story.

I have a XR-65A90J from 2021, that I think is a victim of a lightening strike. At first the screen would cycle through the welcome screen and now I get only the red flashing light that alternates the number of flashes. The remote does not change anything on the tv. Which board would you suppose was damaged by the lightening?

I have an XBR85X900F that had a vertical red line for about 2 weeks then all of a sudden just shut off and won't turn back on. I did all the easy stuff, unplug, reset etc. replaced power board and main board but still will not turn on. When I plug in power, you can hear the power go through the set. There is no standby light on this tv so it makes it difficult. Does this mean it is the screen panel? Or could it be the back light board you have in this video?

Here’s an interesting question. Just got a 75x940e super cheap, but the screen almost misplaces pixels. At first it was in the form of a line and now it’s pixels scattered about. Very random and not all the time. And also in the settings menu it thinks it’s a 55 930e. Any idea what might be going on?

My TV was not turning on , so I decide to order all the boards and replace them except T-Con. My TV was on the stand so it was hidden and missed it. The TV was flashing green/amber light , I plugged in the USB to updated the firewall and the light started blinking white. After 10 min , it started to flash red 4 times. Based on you video and info you shared RED LED blinking x 4 - LED driver failure / LED voltage protection , the LED board is brand new. Is there issue with LED Backlight Strip and need to be replaced ? Should I replace TCon board too ? Blank screen with Blinking RED LEDs 4 times . What else should I try ? HELP !!!!

Hi, TampaTec, i watched a couple of you XBR tv repair videos to learn how to fix mine. i happened to witness my XBR55X930D going out-of-order. The image melted from the upper right hand corner towards the left and the screen went dark from the right to the left in the matter of seconds. After that, the audio is still working ok but when i turn on the TV now, i see about 2 inches of white vertical lights on the left hand side about 2 inch from the left side of the tv. Sound still works ok (if i cast audio to the tv, it still works). After i watched some of the repair videos, i thought this would be the t-con board problem (power seems ok, sounds ok, white light from TV, but no image). But after i replaced the t-con board, the TV still has the white vertical light 2 inch from the left side of the tv, but no image. Any suggestions of how to further troubleshoot the problem would be highly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!

1.swap HDMI cables to be sure it's not a bad HDMI cable and check HDMI connections for bent pins or dirty connection 2.reset TV by unplugging TV power for 1 min 3. possible it's a bad part on main board or bad HDMI port. hope that helps

Check around the transformer. I have a philips tv that would turn off or wouldn’t turn on then it started to have a burnt electrical smell. One of the legs of the transformer had gotten lose and was arcing. Melted in a bunch of solder on the bad joint and 2 yrs later the tv is still working good. Tv is probably 15 yrs old now. May be a different issue than what you have.
