I wonder how it works under manual focus for video? Can the ring be mapped to a longer focus throw? is it considered usalbe?

I own only one Tamron lens, the 70-180 (and 4 Sigma). I miss the AF/MF switch on the Tamron. To take pictures close with that lens you have to use MF.
