Thx for the video!! But I really hope you can half press the shoot button to start tracking like on still but it can’t. Hope Sony will put an update on that

any pointers as to why the A9II EVF would show so many artifacts ( purple blue moire ) and has so little resolution especially while half pressing the shutter ?

Wow! The house in those last few shots is beautiful! What part of Oz were they taken in? I took that lens to the Simpson desert last year as my primary video lens. With lots of care, it survived the dust and provided some fantastic colour, sharpness and character.

I have the 25mm and I am going to be purchasing the 12mm. I love it and I use focus peaking when I'm focusing so having a manual focus lens doesn't matter.

Very good review here. I was leaning to buy this for my upcoming trip (chasing the aurora) until I bumped into the Tokina 20mm F2 AF. The Tamron shoots good pictures as long as you can get past the barrel distortion. And I like the weather sealing too something the Tokina lacks. However, more reviews favor the Tokina for landscape night photography including shooting the aurora borealis. I have a month to decide. Your thoughts?
@DavidOastler5 ай бұрын
I think both are great lenses but for Aurora I would go Tokina for the f2

@@DavidOastler thank you for your advice. However, I was doing a little bit more research and it looks like the Sigma 20mm DG DN may be a better choice. It’s a lot more expensive than the Firin so I don’t know if it’s worth the extra dough I’m spending. If I get a used one, I can get it for $450 from a Japanese eBay seller which will be a gray market lens. If it craps out Sigma USA won’t repair it. Is it way too much to compare the Firin to the Sigma? Reviewers are saying the Sigma is a lower cost alternative to the Sony 20mm FE. Appreciate your thoughts on this one.

A year late, but was the manual zoom, aperture, and focus truly manual? I have a Photron Fast Cam Nova-S that doesn't have any CPU pins to communicate with lenses and most "manual" focus lenses require computer communication with the lens... so not entirely manual.
