Me too, but I tried painting a lemon instead of apple. At first, I struggle very hard with color and value compositions. Still practicing.

That’s awesome 🙌 You can use any round fruit to start, then try adding something like a cup or dish to mix it up. Good luck with your practice!!

0:43 Sidenote: The time duration there is the duration of the time-lapse replay, not the actual time spent working on the drawing. You can find the actual time spent drawing on Settings > Canvas > Canvas Information > Statistics > Tracked Time. Also, the time is expressed in hours, minutes, seconds, and milliseconds. So a "00:00:11:13" would mean that the replay timelapse - if you were to export it at full length would turn into a video of 11 seconds and 13 milliseconds. Just the other day I made a drawing that took me a total of 5h and the duration of the time-lapse is of 7 minutes.

Thanks. I always thought that the duration of a time-lapse and the drawing time were correlated at 1:60 - meaning 11 seconds of time-lapse equals 11 minutes of drawing. I just checked and noticed that the tracked time in statistics increases even if I’m doing nothing and just keeping the canvas open. Previously, if I’m not mistaken, only the time spent on actual actions was counted, without any idle time, and it was proportional to the time-lapse recording as a result.

@@Tanalieku Maybe, I'm not sure. The thing that I noticed from using ProCreate for a while is that its timelapse feature records each "complete" brushstroke. Say, if I were to draw a straight line on a empty canvas very slowly from one corner of the page to the other (let's exaggerate and say it took me one full hour to draw that line), the video recording will only show the empty canvas on one frame and the completed line on the following frame. It doesn't show the line slowly being drawn. So. depending on the type of brushes that you use (if you draw many individual lines or if you're someone that works a lot with lasso tool and larger brushes), the duration of the video will heavily change even if you spend the same time painting.

Awesome work!! I have a question, though: did you use the layers tool? Or was it all in one layer?
@Tanalieku4 ай бұрын
Thank you!! Yes, I did. I usually start with the base shape of the object and then add separate clipping masks for shadows and highlights.

Thank you! The hard brush I mentioned at the beginning is the ‘Suke Val’ brush from the Su Ke Brush Set: www.artstation.com/marketplace/p/Ogx7e/suke-brush-set-2023 Later, I used the brush pen from the calligraphy set in Procreate and a brush from TB Choi that I downloaded from gumroad: tbchoi.gumroad.com/l/rIZky

Practice is key, but it’s more about practicing the right way. Try making your strokes faster, go as fast as you can while still being comfortable, and keep your hand and shoulder relaxed. Little by little you’ll see progress.

We’re going to take an apple and practice until we get a tasty render. Once we nail that, we’ll be able to figure out how to render other things, since that’s the foundation. Don’t thank me! 😉
