I did a Google search on how to use signals and your channel was the first one that came up. Finally got some good advise on Signals. Looking forward to more videos. I'm from Canada.

Thanks Allen, I hope it helped . . . . like you I could not find any useful signal tutorials . . . so I created a test track module and learnt the hard way. There is a Jointed Rail manual here is the link . . . jointedrail.com/smart-signal-manual/ might help expand your understanding a bit . . . . .

A suggestion for a future video / tutorial dealing with signals. What are the uses for each of the numbered signal types? Why did you choose signal '04' for one location and a different number '05' or '06' for another location? When you clicked on the signals with the "?" tool, some options were shown, what do each of these options do, and when / why would you use them? Thanks in advance for considering making such a tutorial video.

This is my first serious TANE SP3 tutorial. I would really appreciate your feedback to help me to improve and provide further videos that you would like to see. Thanks !

Can you do a tutorial for Jointed Rails Safetran CLight Signals!!!
@allison6435 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for this. You asked for suggestions. You mention that the example track is not fully signaled and it would be tremendously helpful to have diagrams for fully signaled intersections so that TANE AI trains don't get stuck. There are fragmented explanations of signalling (that purport to be complete but aren't or aren't clear) in a variety of places and often the advice is conflicting and always incomplete and confusing. A set of simple diagrams to show where to use hard 04s, permissive 05s and the more complicated 06s and 08s to fully signal passing sidings, crossovers, and double crossovers would be extremely useful to those of us that have read a dozen expert sources and remain confused. I can follow a diagram even if I don't quite understand the rationale. What I can't seem to do is get a simple crossover followed by a spur to work with AI trains.

Thanks for your very detailed response . . . . . . . the tutorial you were watching is intended to get a signal system working for a basic route . . .Like you I have limited signal; expertise . . in fact as I don't have any experience developing sessions or AI trains yet . . I have not tried to set up a signal system for that . . I understand there is considerable need to add not only signals but various markers etc to the track for AI and sessions . . . I wish I could help with that . . . . . . and one day I hope to develop these skills . . . . . .. and I too have not found much to help . . . . . even the official N3V youtube channel has avoided subjects on sessions and signalling . . . . . . . . .. The best I can suggest is to look at what recent Payware DLC routes have done . . specifically edit a session or two . . . . you may get some insight from that . . . . . Thanks my friend !

G'Day ColinI really enjoyed this tutorial however I have a question.Where did you get the "G Style signals"I can't find them in my content folder or on the download station?I'm using TANE SP3Lou

Yes these come from Jointed Rail . . . .but are freeware . . . . . . . here is link . . . . . . jointedrail.com/product-category/freeware/signals/ . . . . . .. . but note in addition to signals you will need signal FX library . . . .. . . I also use safetran signals on my Clinchfield route as they are more prototypical to that railroad . . . . . .

I would like to see an in-depth tutorial on interlocking towers. I have tried to set this up several times in TRS 2019 and it never works in a way that is expected! Also, sometimes my signals never turn green or yellow even when junction switches are set to the proper position! Any suggestions?
@colinstrains58855 жыл бұрын
Hi Jerry, I have not done Interlocking tower setup yet . . . and I am not aware of any tutorials for TRS2019 . . . . . . however I believe it should be the same as TANE in most respects . . . . . . . here is a link to a Tutorial done last week . . . . . . goes for about 30+ minutes so should have lots of details . . . . . . . . hope it helps . . . . . kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJ6QYpWbZtaaqac Have not viewed it all the way through due to lack of time . . . . . .

How do you know which tracks are procedural and which are not?
@colinstrains58852 жыл бұрын
Track that is NOT procedural in the main is those that do not have a formed frog in the switch, just two rails that cross over each other. Just grab a track in surveyor, and in an empty spot on the route place the track and create a switch. If there is not frog it is not procedural. Hope that helps.
