A way is to consider them as two separate movies, differentiated by their soundtracks, as absolutely does Jerry Goldsmith's transform the film from some edgy philosophical tale, to one of a more traditional Fantasy, dealing with the Elements of Good and Evil in a more pure tone. Typically preferences are determined by sequence of introduction. It's very likely you/most experienced Tangerine Dream's work first. Perhaps if you experienced Jerry Goldsmith's version first, your opinion would vary.

I was a toddler when this came out.. but I was blessed with an amazing memory. I remember so much from the 80s! I dont know if it was just my innocent mind or what but.. that decade seemed to be very magical. The music and movies have this distinct enchanting undertone. Like something from another world. I miss it very much. When I'm sick.. I always go back to my infant/young childhood days by listening to this song and some others. It wraps a warm hug around me. Makes me think of my mother. My dad. My brother and 2 sisters who were teens back then. I was a surprise baby lol. My family has since fallen apart. I'd give almost anything to have just 1 more day as a kid again. To hug them. To live in that moment... forever 💔🦄
