This gives us all the Power to Combat Darkness! The world is in Turmoil, today. The TV News speaks of too many Murders and Robberies all the time, now! Only one man can save us all!! Ahhh me too please I wasn't even born yet but very close 1986. I'm what you called an old soul personality type who loves old books, music, movies, history etc. XXI century lacks creativity and imagination compared to XX century and olders. It's not that I hate it I just always have that feeling that I belong to diffrent times. Still I'm happy that we all can discover and experience beauty like Legend movie and Tangerine Dream magical music. 🤗🌹

In my opinion, our culture has become increasingly shallow. The other aspect is that big budget movies don't take risks any more, in order to maximize their profit margin. So we end up with art that isn't true unadulterated expression, but simply a business. Perhaps they're the cause of our culture being shallow, because our entertainment is shallow. And that's what influences us from early on. I think we've lost touch with the things that matter.

Time changes everything. This movie was a product of the 80's and we no longer live there. Appreciate the fact that we got this movie at all. You can't make a movie exactly like this in a different space. You can't make a desert movie on the ocean.

God this song is gorgeous!! What a melody. So dark and haunting. Jon Anderson was beyond perfect to sing this! I don't think anyone else could capture the mood and the gloomy-ness as he did. Such melancholy memories listening to this on cassette back in the late 80's/90's. So wish they would offer this to download, The whole soundtrack is amazing.

I hate to be biased, but it really is difficult for me to disagree. Peter Gabriel also did a couple of soundtracks that are up there. Legend, Birdy, and Passion are likely the holy trinity for me. The Italian band, Goblin, also did a good number of soundtracks that are probably worth mentioning, from what I've heard.

I am in my mid-30's and by all rights shouldnt have any knowledge on Jon Anderson let alone this obscure song. But I have to say that I absolutely love this song. Jon's vocals absolutely blow me away in this song. I loved this movie as a kid and happened to find the sound track for sale on some bargain table years ago and I bought it on a whim. I couldnt tell you how many times I listened to this song over and over and over. Jon's vocals are sorely underappreciated by so many. I wish I could sing like him. At about 3:44, this song really illustrates how awesome his voice is. My kids think I am weird for liking this music, but its just so awesome that I cant ignore it.

Why should you have no knowledge of Jon Anderson? Unless you only listen to current music or don't listen to rock(let a lone progressive rock) I wouldn't think that's the case. Jon has one of the most recognizable voices in rock.

Certainly you know that Jon Anderson was a lead vocal for the rock group "YES", with many well-known hits like "Owner Of A Lonely Heart", "Love Will Find A Way", "Changes", "Leave It", "It cCan Happen", "Rythmn Of Love", etc... Not to mention, Jon's also done solo projects.

I don't think Jon's voice is underappreciated. He's objectively an excellent singer with a very distinctive voice, Of course there must be some people who may prefer a different type of voice. Jon has lots of appreciators, personally I would put him in my list of 5 favourite singers. He never sings out of tune and his voice is so suitable for songs like Legend. I think some Yes albums are incredibly good and Jon is the icing on the cake of one of the best groups of musicians of the seventies.

I was 3 years old when this movie came out, but I watched it, just as many times as I’ve watched The Goonies, which is probably the movie I’ve seen the most when I was a kid. This song specifically, is one of the greatest outro’s to a movie, that I can remember and tbph, I don’t remember that many. Tom Cruise’s first movie? With the man of men stealing the show as Darkness? Mr. Tim Curry? I can’t believe the voice that he was able to manifest within him… this song brings me to tears every time I hear it because it obviously brings us back to a time that was better, period.

Straight up tragedy to lose Edgar Froese today. Among the very elite of the pioneers of electronica, along with likes of Vangelis and Jean Michel Jarre. This particular piece, the intro for the movie Legend, was and is, in my humble opinion, one of the most beautiful tracks ever made. Thank you for the Electronic Dreams Edgar!

I've seen the mystics play there Once or twice but I knew they had a reason Enchantment plays it's cards all right Hand in hand with the workings of the seasons Legends can be now and forever Teaching us to love for goodness sake Legends can be now and forever Loved by the sun, loved by the sun Loved Two and two go so close together Whether there is hope that is torn apart In the words of all that's singing Hand in hand the beginning is at the start Legends can be now and forever Teaching us to reach for goodness sake Legends can be now and forever Loved by the sun Loved by the sun Loved Who sings of all of love's eternity Whose shines so bright In all the songs of love's unending spells Only lightning strikes all that's evil Teaching us to love for goodness sake Hear the music of love eternal Teaching us to reach for goodness sake Legends can be now and forever Teaching us to love for goodness sake Sweet songs of youth, the wise, the meeting of all wisdom Sweet songs of youth, the wise, the meeting of all wisdom Sweet songs of youth, the wise, the meeting of all wisdom Sweet songs of youth, the wise, the meeting of all wisdom To believe in the good in man. To believe in the good in man. To believe in the good in man.

The first time I heard this I was obsessed with it, and I couldn't find out who was singing. Years later I discovered Yes and freaked out with excitement to learn who their singer was. Of course, I became a Yes fanatic, and this was the beginning of my love affair with progressive rock.

This song and this movie remind me of all the other fantasy movies of the 80's: Never Ending Story, Willow, Labyrinth, Dark Crystal and Return to Oz. That last one I mentioned is greatly underappreciated. Great score on that movie too!

They could make a video game that follows the Legend storyline even more than Legends of Zelda. Actually tell the story through a RPG real-time action games like The Elder Scrolls series. Goblins, Elves, Faeries, undead mummies, Blix, Pocs, Blunder and Tic. Have a Tom Cruise-like character have to go from forests, valleys, mountains and to swamps and upgrading armor/weapons to fight the Lord Of Darkness and his goblins. Just a thought.

I can't hear that part now, where the singing fades, without hearing Tim Curry's sinister frickin laugh in the background. I love the theatrical release of this movie so much better than director's cut (not that it wouldn't have been cool to just have a few more scenes added)
