Stunning!! The improvisation was beautiful, and the video looked amazing with the lovely setting and the adventurous photographer :D There are a few things that I couldn't quite get my mind around: 1) What camera did you use? The quality looks great and I'm surprised you had that with you for a spur of the moment video. 2) How on earth did you get all the different shots with the same one camera and the same take of audio? Did your photographer have teleporting powers??

Haha! All the videos were taken with my iPhone 5s. My dear friend Myrlin (with whom I was on the epic road trip) was my videographer. The stable establishing shot is the master take, and all the audio comes from that take as well. The other takes aren't absolutely perfectly synced, if you look REALLY closely :) because they were actually different performances (I synced them as closely as I could and then muted the audio on the inserted clips). We did exactly the same thing with Myrlin's garden/gazebo in my "Songbird" video from a few years ago.

Oh wow, you did such a great job! Hard to sync subsequent takes when the first one was improvised!! And how on earth were you listening to the first take when he was recording a new video with your phone? Haha, this is awesome to be able to do this with just a phone on the spur of the moment. I take multiple shots with one camera and sync the takes with my videos, but I couldn't imagine doing that on the spur of the moment! Inspiring. Speaking of Songbird, guess what my next video is???? Oh my word, you really are going to think I'm trying to copy your KZbin channel. I promise I'm just choosing good songs!!! :D

Haha! I can't wait to hear it, I'm sure it will be lovely. And to answer your question: the piece itself is one I've played before, but I usually sing it, so the instrumental version was more or less improv. But I was able to play it consistently enough that the other takes worked (didn't have to listen to the original). Not too bad for a totally last minute thrown together thing. ;)
