I really want a purple tang for my 75 gal, but new to saltwater fish and want to make sure I get their feeding and care figured out before pulling the trigger on one.

If you are new and don’t have an established tank a tang is not for you.

Could you maybe do a video for people who are thinking about doing a saltwater tank? Like for beginners, best small fish to start with, best tank to start with? Something along those lines.

Well explained! My son loves Dory so I am getting him a tiny one in my RedSeaReefer 250 and I may only be able to keep it for a year or 2 - but no issue as I can take it back and swap it for another one. I'd like to get a yellow tang for the tank but probably that could be the only tang in there then.

I would just keep the blue tang in that particular size tank. Let it be the boss . A coral beauty angelfish and a pair of clownfish would add nicely 😊😉

@@FishyBusinessSC I am trying this for the second time. I have a blue hippo who is my loan surviver and I still not sure what to do. He is so aggressive and I am thinking because my tank is too small for him.

Hi, How to introduce juvenile naso tang to biger sailfin tang already live in main tank for months? Thanks

Please guide on adding fish order please. Iam setting up a 180gallon tank with minimalist rock structure. Similar to luo's reek tank. Sump is 65 gallon with brick media.. skimmer and refug. I want to keep 2 sets of clown fish occerlaris pair and black ice pair. Blonde Naso , powder blue, yellow, regal, one bristletooth(either 2 spot or sqaure tail)(maybe sailfin or not if advise). And six line, red coris and a pair of leopard wrasse. 2 or 3 blue green chromis. A foxface. A schooling banner. I like my wrasse and tangs very much. Please advise the order/method to put tanks. I plan to get small or juvenile if possible. Also please any utilitarian fish would be appricated.

Powder blue tangs are extremely “ich” prone so after the clowns are introduced- that would be my next fish. Let it comfortably settle in then you can start adding the others. If you add it after the fact I think you will have a difficult time. The sailfin and yellow tang need to go in together as they are from the zebrasoma family and will fight if added separately. Otherwise all the others should be ok especially if you introduce them as juveniles- I don’t think the order will be of issue. One thing I would suggest is that you keep a large group of cleaner shrimp in the tank (6-8) as this will provide a natural way to control simple parasites on the fish

@@FishyBusinessSC thanks you so much i will do that. Good thing you mention cleaner shrimp i thought 1 was enough.

I don’t think the tangs deserve to be bought and returned if they outgrow a tank. My tank is 75 gal and I wouldn’t dare buy a small tang only for it to outgrow the tank.

That was just not helpful. Naso and hippo regals will need 300 gallon tanks as they grow pretty fast to 12-18 inches. It is not in the best interest of the fish we mostly take from the ocean to keep moving them from one aquarium to another.

In Europe, if you put these fish in such a small aquarium, you go to jail. How many and which tangs can I keep in a Red Sea Peninsula 500l. Please answer, greetings from Austria, not Australia. =)

First, I’ve spent a good bit of time in Austria ( not Australia) around the Attersee . I didn’t know the laws were so strict there. 😂 First, in all of our videos we show what is possible over a short term ( a few years) as most aquarists here in our part of the world upgrade their tanks pretty regularly so I apologize if the video gave you the wrong impressions . Ok so, assuming you would only have a this particular tank for the life of your aquarium keeping, these are some thoughts; A super hardy group would be a young purple tang/ Tomini tang and possibly a sailfin tang ( as long as the purple and sailfin were introduced at the same time ) Another option could be a yellow tang/ chevron tang / and a hepatus ( blue) tang There are really a lot of combinations that could work over many years . Right now I have a purple tang and a blue tang in a service tank that is a 90 gallon. Both fish are over 14 years old Just some thoughts, Vielen Dank 😊
