I want to give bonus credit for how Demon Slayer's camera treats Nezuko. A "lesser" anime would pin her up like a centerfold, her costume sliced loose for bonus sexual fanservice, but no! Nezuko is our hero's dear sister, and everything the show does with its camera and costuming invokes that same "love and protect" energy instead of "ogle and bang" like a piece of meat. It makes me really happy that the series won't detract from its core themes for easy waifu money. And it results in Nezuko being one of the best top tier waifus/daughterus of all time.

Dead Calm being the move that finally kills Rui is really impactful. One thing you learn in an abusive environment is that if you let the abuser's anger get to you, they drag you down with them. Tanjiro made that mistake early on in the fight and it cost him. But Giyu kept his mind clear and focused on what he had to do, which allowed him to break through the angry red webs and finish the fight.

I love how subtle this show is in showing how kind, compassionate, and empathetic Tanjiro is. My favorite moment is how mid attack, he realizes Rui's mother welcomes her death in as an escape from her abuse, and switches his sword technique to provide her a painless passing. Extending his hand to comfort Rui, even after what he's done, shows what an amazing person he is.

I wish you'd mentioned immediately after the fight when all loving tanjiro reprimanded Giyu for stepping on Rui's "corpse" (the clothes he leaves behind) it's a really interesting moment in the context of the fight, seeing all that Rui put him and Nezuko through, and all the suffering he cause to his fake family , he still saw Rui deserving of the same treatment you'd give a human, respect for his life, and pity for his fall

I think he left it out for time and also for the fact that that's something that's more key to Tanjiro's character and not something that hinges on the fight itself. It's a scene that belongs more in a character study video on Tanjiro and his mindset. He actually did this with his "What's So Great About Demon Slayer?" video, I just don't think the episode was available when he made it though so he couldn't include the scene.

They used a mixture of vector based graphics and CG. Although i know a lot about 3D, it is hard for me to accurately pinpoint what and where was used. An amazing craftsmanship. By the way - having read manga, i can assure that there is so many more gorgeus fights ahead. A lot of them. Can't wait

Rumble Lane those arcs seemed very rushed to me! But the hashira training ark was more like him the way he stood up for genya and he was so worried about Giyuu, just because of his kindness then proceeding to not be mad at the wind pillar even though he has reasons to hate him, that is just like Tanjiro. Also one little detail that I absolutely love in this arc is how when tanjirou goes to the pillars he already knows they are so happy to see him and treat him like their son😫😫

The manga version is OK. In fact the manga is merely OK. The author has a good idea and has done a good job, but for the most part either the fight is difficult to fully comprehend, or the scenes are over quick(Due to needing to fit into a certain amount of pages/panels). That's why UFOTable is right now the #1 best studio, because it took an OK manga and elevated into a Great Anime.

Consistancy and clarity are the key here I think. Tanjirou is constantly pulling "power" from his family bonds. Not just in big fights where he needs a boost to survive. The show does a good job imo of actively portraying our MC as a boy whose family is always at the forefront pushing him forward even in small ways whether it's to train or keep walking to a destination. So when he draws on this strength to overcome an obstacle like Rui its feels pretty natural and not so much genre convention. This is true for Nezuko as well.

No matter how much I see this scene, it is still just as great as the first time. Probably one of the best animated/colored/directed scenes in an anime I've seen in quite a few years and really made me enjoy this anime. UFOtable's digital team is extremely talented they do those CGI/effects outside of animation & merge them with animation very well. in fate there is also character development when it's needed. shirou vs archer in fate/stay night unlimited blade works, was one of the most character development I've seen in a fight. demon slayer got itself a studio that'll make it big for sure. episode 19 was trending worldwide on twitter. we can hope much in the future. but yah I suggest u check fate series out ;) fate/zero is my personal 2nd fav anime & its main focus isn't even the fights.the anime is abt clashs of ideologies to put in short.

To me this belongs in a museum somewhere right along likes the Mona Lisa or The Last Supper. Anime has been an art form but I don't think we've ever had something quite like this before and I hope it goes down remembered as one of the great moments in this medium's history. Even just watching this synopsis and examination of a fight still moved me to tears from beautiful the art is and how emotionally moving it as a piece and that says something when even the analysis can cause tears.

this fight really broke my expectations, i had read it in the manga and it was so awesome but the anime took it to another level. the animation was literally jaw dropping and it was enough to rank it as my new favorite anime after holding the same anime as my favorite for 6+ years...and the interesting thing is as this series has barely even begun. i am so excited to see what the movie has to offer and i am beyond ready to see kokushibou's fight. i hope demon slayer can continue giving us this breathtaking animation and expanding on the already beautiful story line. in my book this series truly is and will be a masterpiece.

Love emboldens a person, makes them strong mentally, pushes them in the back when they need it, because you care about the person you're doing all this for. Under the most extreme of conditions, the truth of this aspect of love is obviously proven. It's wonderful and something to be envious of. Not everyone possesses this kind of love that would lasts and be the reason you can last even under extremely tough conditions.

You kinda glanced over it with a clip in this episode, but I'd love to see you analyze Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood's fight versus Homunculus (AKA Father). I feel that fight takes many of the things built up over the entirety of the series and really pushes them forward. From Hohenheim's usage of the souls that make up his immortal body, to Al sacrificing his life to give Edward back his arm that was used as payment to bind his soul to the armor. Every beat of that fight has some connection to something that was built up throughout the Elric brothers' journey, and the aftermath wraps it up beautifully. That of course is just the themes of the fight, and not the animation used to illustrate it on the screen. That is what I'm looking forward to seeing from you. If it holds up to its theme and weight, or if the animation can't support such weight and is crushed.

I have shed tears from sad moments in anime but from the emotional weight, beautiful animation and music of a fight scene this is only the second time it's ever happened. The first being Gohan snapping into SSJ2 against Cell. That's quite a large gap in time between the two and I appreciate Demon Slayer so much for finally making me feel that way again.
